Bills defense isn't that great. Seemed like they couldn't stop Baltimore. Home field is so important. Don't think they could go into Baltimore and win in the Playoffs. Ravens are on a completely different level. Put aside their 0-2 start.
  2. Yeah would bring him back as a long man/depth starter at the price. Can give you 100+ emergency innings if needed. Not a bad guy to have around.
  3. Wouldn't the Brewers and even Padres be rested as well? I don't get it lol.
  4. Does Atlanta use Chris Sale in Game 1 or 2, or neither? Wonder what they decide to do.
  5. Relievers are volatile. Yes Swanson pitched great last season, but you shouldn't have to trade an everyday player like Teo for a reliever like Swanson. You develop those guys in your system or you sign a reliever via free agency. The Jays would have benefited from having Teo in the lineup in 2023 and who knows, maybe it would have made it easier to resign him for 2024. Overall, wasn't too crazy about it at the time and looking back still not. We'll agree to disagree lol.
  6. Nah, the ballpark still holds around 40-45K of seats and there are 81 home games. Even if they had sellouts every game, would be easy to buy tickets off StubHub or Ticketmaster Resale before game time if there was a specific game you wanted to go to. Sure maybe some matchups like against the Yankees or Dodgers would demand more money, or if it was a bobblehead or free jersey day giveaway, but for the most part it's not too difficult to get baseball tickets in Toronto and they aren't ever that much more than face value. Maybe Postseason is the exception, but heck even in 2015 and 2016, ticket prices to some of the games were going for like 50-60% less than face value.
  7. Haha yup. They were left disappointed. I still wouldn't get baseball season tickets unless I'm splitting them with like 3 or 4 people.
  8. In Toronto, he would have Vladdy who has been one of the best bats in baseball since June. As well, Teo has had success before in Toronto, without 2 or 3 Hall of Fame caliber hitters in front of him. Just saying.
  9. Those extra years of control on Swanson still are way more valuable and Macko could be something decent. Hope the Jays could pull another move where they trade an everyday player for a reliever with 3 years of control! Just brilliant!
  10. Yeah you never read my post lol. I said given all the holes they need to fill on the active roster, they likely have to spend more than $50-60M that they have available to address those areas. Also, I said they could roll with Clement/Barger at 3B in order to save some money. As well I might add, it doesn't help that players like Springer (25M), or arms like Green (10.5M), Bassitt(21M) and Berrios (18.7M) are tying up a lot of money on the payroll. Not the most effective use of finances. That's $75M tied up to just those 4 guys.
  11. The only option they really have is to splurge. To make upgrades and to cover up all the holes on their 26-man roster is likely going to cost more than $50-60M. On the shopping list: - two power bats (corner OF and DH) - third baseman - #2 starting pitcher - two high leverage bullpen arms They might be able to get away with Clement/Barger at 3B or having Vladdy playing 80 or so games at 3B.
  12. George Springer from July 1st to July 31st started to turn his season around and hit .274/.343/.505 with 5 HR's and a 141wRC+. Those are encouraging numbers. Yes he did get off to a slow start, but cast those numbers aside because from July 1st to July 31st, we saw what the old Springer could give us! Yes his bat did slow down in August and September but he still hit 5 HR's in August and his slow down is likely due to some randomness and bad luck along with age. If Springer could have three months of July in 2025, Jays will be fine and I think there is still a lot left in the tank! For $25M AAV, Springer hasn't been that terrible and every big FA signing turns out bad regardless in the latter years. Jays likely will have around $50-60M in payroll space, so hopefully they could add two big bats, a third baseman, a #2 starter and some bullpen pieces. It's going to be tight to fit all of that in with only $50-60M of spending money, and it's too bad they don't have any more cap space available, but they need to find a way. Springer is making $25M, Bassitt $21M, Berrios $18.7M, and Green $10.5M, but it's alright!
  13. I know several people who bought season tickets because of the Ohtani frenzy and many others probably did, though I doubt majority of those people renew their season seats for 2025. If the Jays don't have an exciting offseason, likely will impact flex pack and season ticket sales in the winter. They still will sell out the Home Opener, though games in April/May on a weeknight won't be full. The weekend games where there is a free giveaway still will get the fans and casuals through the turnstiles. Once the weather warms up and roof opens, weekend games will have good crowds. In the summer, they get a lot of walkups or people buying last minute on StubHub/Ticketmaster. Mostly casuals who go in large groups and socialize at one of the rooftop patios since it's something for them to do in the summer. I could see the Jays drawing under 30K per game on average next season, unless they have a big offseason and are in Postseason contention for majority of the year.

Some great games today: Vikings/Packers and then Bills/Ravens. Definitely going to tune into those games.
  15. Riley Greene has a 4.2 WAR this season and is only 23. You're hilarious man!
  16. LOL well looks like it is, since Detroit is making the Postseason.
  17. You don't say...
  18. So just curious, about the Blue Jays/Tigers discussion a couple weeks ago, did some posters end up changing their minds?
  19. Typical one word posts from you as always lol. You're the best at it! Nah, I don't want to bother wasting my time arguing with a poster who believes everything is a mystery or an enigma and posters who are shills for Atkins, because I know the argument is going nowhere. Fun to trigger them every once in a while though with factual info and comparisons!
  20. MLB messed up. Both teams had an off-day Monday and could have bumped up the series knowing a hurricane was going to hit this week. As well, they could have maybe squeezed in Game 3 on Wednesday with a noon start time if they had to. Sucks for the Mets and Braves to have to play on the Monday but oh well. As well, I know its last minute but couldn't they find a neutral ballpark somewhere on the east coast where both teams could have played let's say yesterday and today?
  21. Sounds great! Who do you suggest the Jays trade for him? I still bet the Mets value him highly and aren't giving him away for pennies.
  22. Was talking with one of my friends the other day, and he thinks the Jays sign Kim during the offseason. Looks like a typical Atkins type of signing. Have the chance to sign a 3-4 WAR player likely who can play an infield position and leadoff. How much do you think he costs?
  23. Depends if the Jays bring in another 3B this offseason, but I doubt they spend the money it takes to sign Bregman and there aren't really any great trade candidates out there. Better to spend money elsewhere on the roster in order to bring in two big bats and another SP. I think Clement can hold his own at 3B over a full season and would be fine as long as he's hitting at the bottom of the order and the Jays add thump to the lineup elsewhere.
  24. One of the first times I agree with you 100%
  25. Bring back BJ RYAN out of retirement!
