Well 50% of your 'points' come from hitters, and 50% of your 'points' come from pitchers.
So, they should have equal weighting.
It's really about the divide between your pick, and the next best pick.
You have to decide if there's a bigger gap between Mike Trout and Giancarlo Stanton (or whoever you think #2 is) or if there's a bigger gap between Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer (or whoever you think #2 is).
And sure, in our 7x7 leagues, there are guys who will help in all seven. But someone like Kershaw can absolutely dominate in three categories, as oppose to merely contribute.
I tend to draft pitchers more in the first couple of rounds, simply because everyone else tends to draft hitters and the pitchers are underdrafted.
And there are plenty of late bargains on the hitting front too, such as: all of my players.
