  1. Gibby seemed to think Tulo looked good in TB, so not too surprising. Go Jays! Anyone leaving work early to watch this?
  2. I wouldn't drive to RC if you're leaving that late. Probably go north a bit and park a few subway stops away. Just guessing based on experience. The Go Train will be absolutely packed, I'm not sure how far it is from the Scar to RC though.
  3. I mean, is anyone who has a real job doing any actual work as of 3:00?
  4. First off, I don't care who they play if the Jays end up making it that far. That being said, from an entertainment point of view I think the Cubs would be the most fun to watch. The Mets would be great too with Syndergaard and the huge NY market getting behind them. LA would also be a fun series I'd love to see how the Jays lineup battles with Kershaw/Greinke. That's just my opinion but of course I just want the Jays to wipe the floor with everyone.
  5. I dreamt of a Jays/Pirates world series, now that has turned into a Jays/Cubs world series. Would be majestic!
  6. Cleanup hitter who doesn't play good defence. Obviously Carter is not on the same level, as great as his one moment was, as was Pat Borders for one series.
  7. I cringe when they honour those players at home games. That's fine and all you want to honour that they are still alive, but it's quite upsetting that they haven't been back to the cup final since then. Maybe the worst sports franchise, taking everything into consideration, out of all the major sports.
  8. lol thank you. Excellent post.
  9. Yep. I might take a trip down there next season depending on logistics I hear it's one of the best parks. It's only about a 5 hour drive from where I live. Considering Toronto is 2 hours on the weekends because of traffic that's not too bad lol.
  10. They actually post the break of the pitch on the screen at PNC. f***ing love Pittsburgh.
  11. Agree, love the Pirates. Lots of Jays players at the Leafs game! And here come the let's go Blue Jays chants lol.
  12. Barkov
  13. There was a thread way back discussing who could reach 300 k's next and I said Darvish. The guy has a whole arsenal of tricks and is maybe the most fun pitcher to watch. At least we were fortunate enough to see the 300 k accomplishment this year though!
  14. Lol cheers! I know Seinfeld really well. I actually have a crazy friend who knows more than me and can regurgitate seemingly every line from the show and in the same tone/voice as the character. It scares me to wonder how many hours of his life (and mine) he's used up watching Seinfeld re-runs haha.
  15. Yeah good point Costanza but I'm sure it's been discussed extensively and not by stupid people. So we should trust their decision. It would absolutely be the wrong decision if the Jays were behind and used Dickey in game 4 though, so let's not assume that would happen.
  16. I really think he's just there to face Fielder/Choo/Hamilton if it is still fairly early in the game (i.e. the lefties they won't pinch hit). One can only hope...
  17. lol yep. The biggest concern is really the bullpen which will make us sweat buckets during the playoffs. Imagine a comfortable lead in a huge game and then Sanchez/Loup/Osuna unravelling, would be shades of the Leafs/Bruins game 7.
  18. Surprised to see Estrada start game 3 but if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Dickey has been great but any knuckleballer is more prone to being complete junk than a decent starter. With the offense Estrada has a better chance to avoid disaster which is more important, of course some might still disagree.
  19. Like others it should be playoffs. It was odd to see them reference the HR #s in addition to regular season like 13th for Gomez.
  20. Yeah they have a likeable team. Correa, Springer, Altuve, Gattis etc etc I would love to see a Jays/Astros ALCS. Can't look past Texas obviously.
  21. From what I remember, he threw A LOT of junk to the Jays in both starts and not a ton of fastballs. Jays just weren't seeing the pitches that well out of his hand... I expect that to change as well.
