  1. 100 is about 2/3 of a season. That's a cup of coffee in my opinion.
  2. After Iorg, just a bunch of cups of coffee.
  3. That could have been the play of the century.
  4. It was after. His arm action seemed so unnatural.
  5. Dalton Pompey without a concussion might have been something.
  6. i remember watching Tommy John pitch. It was sad.
  7. One of the biggest differences is the Tommy John surgery and training in general. Back in 1982, a torn rotator was the end of a career so pitchers had to be more careful. Now they go nuts.
  8. Yes it was a different era when pitchers had to pace themselves a lot more. Jack Morris was one of the best at doing that.
  9. He was a workhorse, 35+ starts a season and 200+ innings. And 10-15 complete games. That doesn't happen anymore.
  10. There was a pitcher. The definition of work horse.
  11. New GM will probably want to put a stamp on things quickly.
  12. 3 of the finest Jays bats!!
  13. Wonder if the Jays will retire the number now.
  14. I have to admit, I sometimes think Barger is Kevin Smith Jr. Hope not.
  15. I'm just thinking that maybe some pitchers will be working towards being a 2-3 inning specialist more and not be failed starters.
  16. The way starters innings are going (all approaching 150 innings instead of the old 200), star long relievers could become a big thing. In the past mid and long guys were just failed starters who catch some innings. It could change.
  17. One of the best pitchers we ever had. He was money. He didn't have the best arm, not even the best #22 pitching arm, but he was great.
  18. I agree. His leaving was, to me at least, the breaking down of the team. Him and Alomar.
  19. 140-150 innings could be good for him. Who really cares whether its in the pen or rotation?
  20. Seems like Zulueta is being used like an old-school closer like Mike Marshall and Goose Gossage. Those guys threw multiple innings. I think Marshall had 200 innings of pure relief.
  21. That was #24 actually. And Rocket gave a Rolex for #21.
  22. I figure #25 had 13 years of elite player years (assume all years are elite for a player who is elite) and #19 had 16 -- so Molitor breaks that tie. #37 had Stieb for 14 years.
  23. Yeah I'd think 19 (Joey Bats plus McGriff) and 25 (Delgado and White) would be up there and 12 would have the most decent seasons (between Whitt and Alomar)
  24. maybe when we get to #1 we should have a poll of which number had the most years of greatness.
  25. Lists like these are nothing but ego stroking and have no bearing on anything. Only one trophy matters.
