  1. Am I the only one that thinks of this when somebody says his name?
  2. The minor league games may be 2-4 games only. And for Eloy, he wasn't hitting for power in AAA either.
  3. I was watching some of the pitches that Hoffman got beaten on. Individually they didn't look that bad. I'm just wondering if he's somehow telegraphing his pitches or sequences.
  4. I just don't see how Lukes is going to get better with this sporadic play. He probably needs 2-4 weeks in Buffalo playing every day. Schneider and Clement should be the only leadoff hitters. When I saw the batting order before the game, I knew we would struggle to 1 run.
  5. I gotta admit, when Springer went down I thought Schneider would pick up some at-bats. Good things seem to happen when he hits. Now we're starting a scrub???
  6. With Bichette's move to 3b and the Mets, he may not repeat last year's stats.
  7. Scherzer is the only one of the bunch that might be done other than Santander.
  8. I never wrote him off then or now. I just thought he was having some trouble but it could be fixable (I hope). His swing doesn't look bad, he just doesn't seem to understand the lower part of the strike zone. The other guys should come around over time except Bichette.
  9. I posted a little while ago that Okamoto seemed to be in trouble and I got nothing but hate and quotes that he had good stats in Japan. I think Okamoto just hasn't learned the MLB strike zone and approach yet. Don't write him off...yet.
  10. His injured list date was March 22 so that means something like May 22 at the earliest.
  11. A switch hitter would be great, but I agree the Bieber part is a kick in the nads.
  12. If we go with Cease and Gausman as the steady first two and then get back Berrios and maybe Yesavage then we might be remotely okay. I'm hoping Lauer was a case of the flu and I'm starting to think Mad Max may be toast.
  13. Hopefully Barger will be back soon too.
  14. I'm guessing he replaces Fitzgerald but it still seems like an overpay and it means we lose him if we need the roster spot. The part I really hate is admitting that Bieber is on the 60 now
  15. I forgot to mention, Sanchez could be DH till Barger returns.
  16. This is just a thought, but hopefully Barger is back in a week and that maybe some DH time might go to him to ease up on his ankle. So I was thinking maybe Schneider should get a few games as he seems to be doing well and Lukes can get RF. So maybe Clase makes short term sense.
  17. ********, he wasn't in the majors last year, the Japanese stats can be misleading. That he's walked just means that he's not swinging the bat.
  18. Fluharty might be moving into the higher leverage zone. Nance must have nude pictures of Schneider or something. I didn't expect him to make the roster this spring.
  19. Actually I'm referring to all his strikeouts this season. He's got a lot, about 50% of the at bats. Commenting on how he did against the Japanese leagues is not an accurate reflection.
  20. How is that bizarre? Okamoto is striking out a ton. There's two general reasons for strikeouts: 1. he can't catch up with the pitches or 2 he doesn't know where the strike zone is.
  21. I was watching Okamoto yesterday and the one time he asked for a review, it kind of proved it, he doesn't see the strike zone.
  22. This game is a disaster, when you see Varsho almost miss a play, it's over.
