  1. So how many bunt attempts for Pittsburgh today? I'm guessing 2.
  2. Romano back on the IL -- Brendan Little recalled.
  3. Those red belts make me think of Herb Tarlek, WKRP in Cincinnati.
  4. I agree, but he wasn't rolling on the ground screaming and crying. 5 mph could be self-preservation. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the season's over and 10 being nothing more than a pimple, I think it could be better than 1.
  5. early days, wait for the medical report. But I have to admit, he didn't look that bad in the last start. Not great, but he didn't look like his arm fell off.
  6. have to pretty much agree. Also with the rules requiring facing 3 hitters, the LOOGY has pretty much gone away.
  7. Great on Burr, good AAA fodder. So are we also going for McMahon of the Rockies? What would we be giving up and who would he be replacing? Or is this just clickbait?
  8. Schneider is definitely the MVP of this team.
  9. So who will buy the marketing waste of a last place team? Send a message and ignore it.
  10. I always think of psychology in baseball in terms of Bull Durham. So if the team thinks it's doing better because of a stupid jacket, then so be it.
  11. It's the psychology of hitting.
  12. Kind of what I suggested. He (and they) have physical tools but just need someone to set the environment to make them work. The Jays are lacking a leader.
  13. I guess it's a symptom of the problem. I never thought those players had bad defensive capabilities, rather they just didn't care so much and enjoyed hot dogging it a bit more. I always thought they just needed a real leader to show them the way and that is what they are totally missing this year. I thought getting Ohtani would shame Vladdy into playing up to his capability but any team for which Vladdy is the leading talent, is destined for failure.
  14. I still think good hitting makes everyone better and worse hitting makes everyone worse. A lineup is a mixture of different personalities and what I'm afraid of is that there's nobody to lead them forward. One or two hitters do well, then another one follows and so on. In this case, we started with 3 s***** hitters and stayed that way. That part to me was unforgiveable.
  15. Jansen and the Babe. The only hitters worth watching.
  16. 4 ip, 44 pitches or so. Nothing to show for it.
  17. Much of the media works for Rogers or expects/wants to one day. So won't rock the boat.
  18. I see Vogel setting up at the plate and I think of Chris Farley doing "fat guy, little coat" thing.
  19. Classic Bo!!!
  20. Totally disagree with you: he's got a roster spot in the majors, earning pension time and $2mm/year. That's the luckiest f*** I've ever ever seen.
  21. Vogelbach has to go: what an idiot. Almost turned a strikeout into a double play.
  22. that throw to 1st on Bichette made me think: video replay is the greatest improvement to the game in the last few years. I used to hate managers coaching coming out screaming that they saw it, whereas they knew nothing. When robo umps come in, I'll probably be happier than a pig in s***.
  23. The other possibility is we pay their contracts for this year. Money could help sway the trade.
