I got the idea that he was only playing everywhere to get a little experience, but more importantly to get some at bats while allowing Orelvis to gain some 3b experience. I'd like to hear what the plan is for him up here.
Vogelbach hit about .235 when he started playing somewhat regularly. That was probably the best he could do. I'm still surprised he got any time on the 26 man roster anyway. Is it also possible that Votto may be on the radar if Barger isn't ready?
I had a post about this a little while ago. Looks like Horwitz is deemed to be the real thing offensively but maybe not at 2b so much. He'll probably move over to dh-1b more. Thought he looked fine at 1b. Next logical move is to move IKF into 2b and a platoon of Barger and Clement at 3b with Barger backing up the OF.
I think it's too much for anyone to even discuss. If so I feel bad for Bo. But I don't think it's something people with no real idea should be discussing.
I think batting him second makes some sense. Probably just telling him to walk or pop a single while following Schneider up and watching the pitches. It's the starting at 2b that makes me think a bit too much pressure.
we're going to have a pitching problem in a little while. With Romano hurt and only 4 starters, it's going to be like the beginning of the season was but now the defense has been down-graded a touch. The pitching is going to be seriously stretched.
Forget YRod this year as a starter. 2-3 innings does not a starter make. Same probably for Ricky T. Macko interests me a bit. But our pitching is thin. Very thin.
I guess the Horwitz at bats will be a trial, see how he does. If good, and the team continues to suck, then trade off the designated hitters and bring up Barger.
