Barger just seemed to show that he wasn't used to major league pitching, he didn't show that he couldn't handle it. Given that we're less than .500, might as well give him some more at bats. The lineup needs some major reshuffle.
The only reason I think we're keeping him is to get Kooch signed. Otherwise a guy who hits .100 and can't play a position. I'd do it for half the price.
His swing looks awful. The only question, is what caused this. Could be himself, Mattingly, or somebody else. His left shoulder seems turned in and he's slashing down at the ball hitting so many balls to short.
This team is not showing any good signs offensively. The time to sell -off will probably be in a few months. We don't have the staff to compete this year.
No, he has to stand up and admit that his offseason plan of everyone getting better was nothing but horse s*** and resign and let somebody else build a decent team. He can't do it.
