  1. Smoak walks more and strikes out less, didn't have an insanely high BABIP (7th highest in something like 16k+ player seasons for Cola), is better (though not good) defensively, had a much better spring (close to 1:1 BB:K instead of 1:6 BB:K).
  2. We're facing Archer, my only question is why is Colabello (who had a terrible spring and hasn't looked good at all at judging the strikezone) playing over Smoak who had a great spring and had a really good handle of the strikezone.
  3. I'm fine with this as it now creates depth that losing Loup shortened. If Loup was healthy Venditte/Tepera/Girodo wouldn't even be in the discussion until injury or poor performance replacement was needed.
  4. Went to both Montreal games, had a lot of fun. I really do wish that the games weren't the day before the regular season begins though.
  5. I used to play baseball with that guy like 4-5 years ago, he ended up working for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and recently got picked up by someone else to actually work in baseball in some capacity.
  6. I'm assuming it's nerves, this is the closest he's been to an MLB game so far.
  7. I still think Cola is super questionable. His spring was bad, at bats looked bad, strike zone awareness was bad. It was spring so of course the results are basically useless but he hadn't done anything at the MLB level until last season and that was on a 400+ BABIP. I'd be comfortable saying I think Smoak has the better offensive season this year.
  8. I question the Carrera call but Cecilliani should be up before long I'd imagine. I think Tepera gets optioned when Estrada comes back so that the FO can get a longer view at Biagni and Leon to see if one or the other can stick which should last until Loup is healthy or Venditte is called up.
  9. I think the Rays are better than last year and I think Boston is as well. I think Baltimore is going to steal a few games from us with some of the pop they have despite how s***** that pitching staff is. I also see a strong AL Central this season and those now become even more must win games. I think 88-89 wins gets the division.
  10. They'd use the lights like they do at Miller park or almost all football fields over in your area I'd imagine. The biggest issue is the humidity level increase and drainage systems.
  11. I'd debated selling the Saturday tickets but I've never seen a game at Olympic Stadium (though I've played there) so the $24 I spent is worth it in my opinion. Will be my partners first ever "MLB" game.
  12. I haven't watched much spring training but the games I did see Cecilianni looked really solid, that was a good pickup. Glad that Smoak had a strong spring, not at all surprised with Cola's results so far, he's still my candidate for a DFA/Option (not sure what his status is) in May/June.
  13. That looks how I think anyone thought it would look. You're going to have 3+ inches of turf underneath the clay so that someone doesn't catch it and pull it off the concrete corners.
  14. It's worth keeping him stretched out. Who knows if someone comes down injured between now and April 3rd, worst thing this team could do is starting limiting Sanchez's, Floyd's or Hutch's innings.
  15. I'm also going to the Saturday game. I think you'll see as said above the regulars for 4-6 innings (2-3 at bats) and then prospects filling in.
  16. In an ideal world Sanchez is in AAA until June starting every 5 days. He's never thrown more than 92.1 innings in a season and around 66 innings had the oblique/lat injury. Let's see him get to 100 innings in AAA and then come to Toronto and throw another 35+ in the bullpen. If we can get 7 starts out of Floyd for the 1M salary then great, if you get more that's fantastic and if you get less that's why you have Chavez, Hutch and Hernandez. This is the first year in the last four or five that we have any starting pitching depth and we have a pitcher who was rushed to the MLB in Sanchez who could really use some AAA work if the team ever wants him to be an OK big league starter.
  17. Wasn't 2013 his tommy john recovery? I'm guessing the Jays got an extra option year because of it like all the McGowan issues.
  18. All these old guys are f***ing annoying. It's a game people should be having fun and showing emotion, do bat flips, do fist pumps, stare downs etc. It's good for baseball.
  19. I'd like to see if Edwin would do 3/65 with a 25 million option for a 4th year with a 5m buyout so a guaranteed 70M.
  20. Log into Facebook WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know. That's Chisholm's Facebook with the pitching schedule for the week.
  21. My concerns with converting guys who relieved for a few seasons into starters are Chamberlain and Feliz in recent history.
  22. I think it's their vs LHP line up. No Loney, no Kiermaier. edit: Forsythe 2B Souza RF Longoria 3B Dickerson LF Pearce 1B Morrison DH Guyer CF Miller SS Casali C Archer P
  23. Agreed. It's nice to finally have some depth now. Brown, Cecilliani, Carrera, Lake behind Pompey, Saunders, Pillar and Bautista. Then you have Roemen Fields who might be MLB ready as a bench piece this season. I'm honestly hoping that Pompey either gets the starting job or is in AAA getting everyday at bats with Cecilliani working as the fourth OF.
  24. Are you asking because you don't know or because you think Jonn doesn't know? If it's the prior I'll explain. ll
