Outs above average likes Biggio at 2B and in the OF. I don’t think there’s a need to move Biggio and you can still bring in a 4th OF unless moving Biggio improves the team.
Varsho in 22 was worth a win more than Teo and Gurriel combined. If he has another 4+ win season and Kiermaier is healthy at all this is a big upgrade on the team in general.
I'm going back to the top of my Jansen hill.
Since May 1st of 2021, f*** the SSS, leads MLB catchers with 350+ PA at a 144 wRC+ and is 8th in fWAR at 4.5 (ahead of Kirk). He has 45ish% of the PA of the leaders. If somehow he stays healthy there is a good chance he is the best offensive catcher in baseball in 2023 and a 5+ win player.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Robbie Grossman brought in as the 4th OF & Kiermier platoon partner.
I think I'd set the team with with:
LF. Springer
SS. Bichette
1B. Guerrero Jr.
DH. Kirk
RF. Varsho
3B. Chapman
C. Jansen
2B. Merrifield
CF. Kiermaier
Biggio, Espinal, Lopez/Horwitz and a 4th OF.
I’m probably the least high person on Varsho on this forum and I’m happy with this trade. Gurriel is awful and we have a second OF for the next 4 seasons instead of just Springer. Out OF defence is going to be phenomenal this season. I’m happy Jansen is here and I’m sticking to my guns that he is the most valuable of the 3 catchers in 23. Moreno looks like a good player but I’m concerned by the dramatic drop in power in 22.
It's a SSS but he had a 2.28 xFIP as a reliever with 16.2k/9 and a 4.4bb/9. 16IP with 33Ks 9BBs. Had a high .371 BABIP and 80% LOB.
I think he may have success as a reliever myself but his arm is so damn interesting you want him to make it as a starter. He had a lot of success in Japan but obviously hasn't found a measure of it in the MLB.
The biggest issue I have with Reynolds (and this goes for Vlad as well) is their projections are taking the 6+ win season into account and skewing high. That looks like an outlier for Reynolds (in my opinion), Reynolds is going to be 28 and there's a chance he has some physical decline going on. I'd be open to trading for him at a 4 win valuation but I feel like the ask if it is Tiedemann plus is going to be more of a 6 win player and what I see is not that.
Vlad we saw this year is basically the Vlad from August on in 21 as well. His slug dropped .120 points when we stopped playing in MiLB stadiums and he had a 140 wRC+. I wouldn't be giving Vlad a 300M deal based on the last 1.5 seasons of play (a lot of the casual fanbase thinks this is a wonderful idea).
To answer breakfast 150g of egg whites, 1 whole egg, blended with vanilla cinnamon and monk fruit sweetener, dip 4 slices of bread in and fry (add the extra egg mixture as it cooks) top with sugar free syrup.
The permaban is way too far in my opinion.
I do agree with TL that the comment being up as long as it was is horseshit. We're a relatively small community and if we want to grow at all and welcome new members (which we should want to) even if it is an inside joke it can go to far and push people away.
I'm looking through the source and it's been stagnant for the most part.
Yes they were the highest in 1997 around 72M but they for the most part (5-6 seasons) haven't really spent money since then, they've been in that 70-90M range if not less.

When you start counting for inflation they're spending less than they did 20 years ago. They're not the only team in this position either and with teams making more off TV deals I do feel like it's ********.
Reddit is a lot more active but the membership is a lot more casual and reactionary which makes it frustrating. There are a handful of good posters who are quite knowledgable and would fit in well here but the large majority are like "but he hits .250 he sucks" or "Bo is a bad and should be released".
It's more heavily moderated than the BJMB is which has it's pros and cons.
The issue I have with the banning of TL, and I'm not sure if more was going on as I'm not reading through the backlog, is that this could apply to someone like myself who has been here since May of 2013 and despite doing like 100 posts a year I'm around. If something bullshitty happens and I actually see it I'll call it out.
As an edit:
It shouldn't matter how infrequently a poster posts if they're generally contributing when they are active. If someone is calling out racist ******** like TL did regardless of it being an inside joke it should be called out.
I think there are concerns about Davis sticking behind the plate. Catchers are so ducking busty that I could see the Pirates taking Moreno or Kirk. Remember the 2000s with the Jays you had Thigpen and some guy that started with a G among a bunch of other catchers of the future and they all failed at the MLB level.
I don't get this Kiermaier is a bad hitter take. He's below average but is still like a 90wRC+ bat. It's like having Tapia but not being bad at everything.
