  1. Very small sample size but 17k/9 with no walks is always good.
  2. Gibbons Montoyo Gaston Farrell I think Farrell was a dog s*** manager. Gibbons was a good manager that the players liked and he had good bullpen management. Gaston is quite polarizing. Montoyo for his warts the players seem to like him.
  3. Valera is having a solid year in AAA and IIRC he can play 2B/3B and both corner OF so not a bad bench piece.
  4. Yes bring me a Kitchener boy. I used to (going back 15 years) played baseball with a Ziegler and I'm originally from Kitchener wonder if it could be a cousin.
  5. I could see a Gurriel or Grichuk + prospects for Berrios, Cruz and Rogers kind of block buster.
  6. Outside of Hatch in AAA who would you want to start 4-5 games in case of injury? Zeuch sucks, Milone sucks. Overton, Logue and Murray are not on the 40 man roster and Allgeyer has been struggling.
  7. I'd like Kirk to start in the MLB if he's catching 3/5 starters and if you're going to platoon someone with McGuire send Kirk to AAA so he has everyday at bats. Also Payamps and Castro optioned Beasley and Matz activated.
  8. Juan Soto is player B and player A is maybe Trevor Story?
  9. If Dickerson gets healthy that's a nice add. This is addition by subtraction on the line up front though with Panik being a below replacement asset. I wonder who's dropped from the 'pen and who's added to the bench.
  10. Martin's on the 7 day IL I think.
  11. If Moreno's bat turns out to be legit I could see a move off C being done to get the bat in the line up for 140-150 games at a position like 3rd vs 120 at C. Getting an extra 80-100 at bats out of a good bat is a big thing over the course of the season. You also tend to not see catchers age gracefully so that may be a consideration.
  12. Spidertack really works well on atlas stones but I could never imagine trying to throw a baseball with it. I've used rosin and sunscreen and chalk and sunscreen mixes in strongman lifts as I find even spidertack on the weights I'm dealing with almost too sticky.
  13. It's really hard to say with Manoah right now. He's had flashes of everything so far. It'll be interesting to see how his next 3-4 starts go. I think this is the level he needs to be at to develop anymore though.
  14. That K% and the BABIP are both concerning for Taylor, but he's really young so who knows how he turns out.
  15. I think he's earned a kick at the can, he's clearly not being challenged in AAA. I know I was in an argument with a friend yesterday about this and he was insistent that Manoah needs more time in AAA (arbitrary innings counts) but there's quite literally no point in letting him just coast in AAA instead of being challenged if you want him to actually develop.
  16. I caught last night that the Nationals team says that Roark is at home contemplating retirement. We'll have to see what comes from that.
  17. I know it's early but I'd much rather not see another Roark start. I'd also be fine with Tellez being sent to the alternate site if he has an option left with Davis staying on the 26 man roster when Springer returns. I feel like the DH spot will be more valuable rotating the OF foursome through it than letting Tellez rack up at bats.
  18. I know it's a very small sample size but the numbers that Tellez and Gurriel are putting up are not comforting. High ks, low walks, no contact is uncomfortable for guys likely to start the season with a fair number of PA who generally hit well in ST. I really think the Gurriel vs Grichuk for PA in the OF is going to be interesting to watch in the early going.
  19. I know he had a horrendous 2020 but his stuff is still there. Depending on the pieces going to the Mets I can get behind this.
  20. I wonder if we see a Hand signing today.
  21. A Braves beat writer broke it a few hours ago and Joey Vendetta about 15-20 mins before Mae. Some randoms seems to have better connections than some of the Jays writers now lol.
  22. https://twitter.com/thehazelmae/status/1351935496629460999 Brantley on a 3 year deal.
  23. Joey Vendetta also saying the Brantley thing was done last night. https://twitter.com/RadioVendetta/status/1351931294314360833?s=20 Hazel Mae 3 year deal https://twitter.com/thehazelmae/status/1351935496629460999
  24. Some Braves reporter that writes for the Athletic says Toronto agreed to terms last night on Brantley. Likely means an OF of Brantley, Springer and then Teo with Grichuk and LGJ as trade bait. Wouldn't surprise me to see LGJ traded for pitching with Teo DHing if Vlad plays at 3rd.
  25. His swing reminds me a lot more of his dads now, a lot more explosive.
