  1. Sandlin and Yariel wouldn't have been available. ...He could have used Little, but then Little wouldnt have been available today in a lefty heavy lineup. THe other trash cans had already been used. Who else should he have gone to?
  2. Great look when your "best" hitters just stand there staring at strike 3....
  3. Pretty sure Jimi has pitched the last two days.
  4. I like that he has that swing in his arsenal, as like a 2 strike approach or something, but not on a first pitch. He's probably the easiest hitter to pitch against. Just throw him inner half fastballs and the worst result you end up with is an oppo single, and most times it will just be a flyout.
  5. To a point. Today its kinda like he was unlucky to get into trouble, and lucky to get out of it. He could just as easily have given up 6 runs. Walking the tightrope ...
  6. God I hate vlad's ******** inside-out swing on 91mph inner-half fastballs. That s*** should be parked in the 3rd level in LF
  7. Kind of a mix really.... he's getting good run prevention results, but his stuff has been pretty meh overall. Flashes of some really good stuff though.
  8. Ummm... anyone else think those seats down the RF under the bleachers look like the single worst place to watch a game from ?
  9. Yup. So far this game, the Jays have 5 balls in play with xba ranging from .470 to .740. only one of them went for a hit so far. Orioles are 5 hits for 6 in the same xba range. lol
  10. Bassitt playing with fire every inning it seems. Sooner or later it's gonna catch up
  11. Np. Baseball ref has them fairly easy to get at
  12. First Saturday home game in 2023 was 41000 attendance, but it was also their 15th game of the season and they'd won 8 of their 10 games. Was against Tampa First Saturday home game 2024 was 31,500, again, 15th game of the season, against Colorado. 4 and 6 over their previous 10. Edit: Follow up, last time the Jays had a non-covid 1st Saturday home game in March was 2019. Attendance was just over 25K. against Detroit
  13. definitely not illegal by the rules, only rules about the bats are they cant exceed a certain length or a certain diameter, and must be a single piece of wood. It doesn't specify where the thickest diameter has to be located.
  14. Well s***, the season is over again.
  15. Absolutely, that follow through is impossible to forget.
  16. Very cool resource. Appreciated
  17. Really just that 1 power bat short TBH. The rest is as good as it can be really.
  18. Alot depends on which version shows up .. true. At worst, he's a 9 hole guy, at best he could actually leadoff.
  19. Bench is half decent too. Straw as the late game pinch hitter for a LHH against a tough LHP, pinch runner and CF replacement. Lukes, ditto except for RHB Schneider another good pinch hitter with pop versus LHP early on, can slot into LF or 2b.
  20. Yeah, I mean.... Gimenez is far from the ideal cleanup hitter, but, as far as that lineup is concerned... may as well. Bo, Vlad, Santander 1-2-3 is about as easy to pencil in as it gets. They're 100% correct that hitting Kirk directly ahead of Gimenez pretty much kills 90% of Gimenez value as a baserunner, so he has to hit ahead of Kirk instead and the way Kirk is hitting you want him top 5 for sure. Springer is clearly being given the signals that he needs to figure his s*** out quick. Really would put Wagner or Roden as cleanup early on given their lack of experience, but... obviously that could change early on if either one breaks out. SO with Kirk needing to be top 5 and Gimenez having to hit ahead of him... that leaves cleanup. Also a very easy decision to swap him out with either Roden or Wagner is either one of them starts off hot. Clement in the bottom 3 is where he should be. Wonder where they gonna stick Varsho when he comes back. He's much more of a power threat that anyone else of the roster, but that swing/miss is as much of a rally kill as anything too. The real plus of this lineup now is they are stacked with decent LHH options against RHP and can still be defensively sound up the middle.
