  1. He was like, the last arm available yesterday. It's almost a blessing he got rocked so the game didn't go any further and completely annihilate the pen
  2. I can't justify a 10m dollar price tag for a 40 year old reliever in my mind. It just doesn't compute. 5? Sure.
  3. This. It was just one of those days where all Schneider could do is use what was available and...the offense couldn't get it done with multiple cracks at walking it off. Eventually, the worst pen arms comes in and shows why he's the low guy on the totem pole and DFA the next day. Its actually pretty refreshing to see the quick triggers on the DFA so far.
  4. Whether he stays here is another question. The league has already figured out the holes in this swing and he hasn't adjusted yet. He's gonna get some time to try and figure it out for sure, but... just like Davis Schneider, if he can't... shuffle back to Buffalo.
  5. Swanson and Burr being injured really made the difference. Those 2 guys being healthy and there isn't a Barnes and Lovelady to start the season. I get people want to stock as much depth as possible and think more signings should have happened... but nobody worth signing was gonna be taking a minor league deal to be depth. Sandlin has been great, Little has been disgusting, and the guys they did sign in Yimi and Hoffman have both been as good as can be expected. Green is Green. Add in a healthy Burr, Swanson and Yariel and there's not even room to sign another solid mid to upper pen guy Pen is nearly tops in the big leagues. Yes, some regression may be coming from a couple guys, but even a bit of regression leaves them in a great spot. Sandlin's injury sucks though. Those lats always take forever
  6. This is the prototypical "good news, bad news" situation.
  7. I'm sure there were a ton of people who didn't really care about Little or Sandlin too. Hell, Atkins has literally rebuilt the pen in one offseason from lowest whiff rate to highest. It's hard to be completely upset that the shittiest guy blew a game because the top two guys weren't available, and everyone else did their job well prior to him.coming in, but the offense couldn't push one run across in the 35 chances they had to do it. That said, I really don't want to see Barnes again. Like...ever
  8. His rumoured asking price was/is 10 million. Think that's worth the gamble? I'm not sure tbh.
  9. First guy I thought of was Robert Person, but that would be a really obscure pick, so I'm gonna say Escobar also
  10. Its not everyday you score 10 runs in the 8th inning and lose.
  11. Is it just me or does it seem like every first hit given up by Francis in a game is a HR? 1st inning, 9th inning... doesn't matter lol
  12. So you're saying the Mariners are due to break out offensively any day now? Great. If the Mariners get hot with the sticks we all get to blame Grant.
  13. I get what you're saying here. Most fans just want to see the team win. Winning is fun. Ya know, it's like...better than losing? But at the same time, if I had to watch 162 games of 3-2, 2-1, 3-0 ball games where it took 3+ singles mixed in with a walk and a bunt to score 1 run, because people keep getting erased on the bases due to idiocy, I'd stop watching. To me. That's not entertaining. Now. I'm not saying that every game needs to be 10-8 either, just that chicks dig the long ball, not the oppo slap single and sac bunt. Somehwere in between is nice
  14. Agreed. Kirk is one of the few guys in the majors who could ground out unassisted to the 2B.
  15. Gotta love it when the staff is being carried by the guy they consider their number 3.
  16. Wasn't too bad, not like Gonzalez the other day for +2 runs not in favour of the Jays Miller was +.56 in favour of the Jays.
  17. Minus the gross L/R splits that Cimber had. Sandlin is gonna walk his share, but he's tough to square up. 0 Barrels given up this year so far.
  18. It was bothering him in his previous start as well.
  19. Wow... he should have crushed that floater... but he still cant pull the ball lol
  20. I think if a guy like Fluharty is your worst reliever, you've good a pretty decent pen
  21. Great snatch by Kelenic, if that got past him Straw would have ran for days
