  1. Sticking Vlad at 3rd and Martinez at 1b ... maybe? I think Martinez is a guy you give every chance to prove his worth before you trade him. As a trade chip, his value really isn't very high to get anything helpful now back.
  2. It's really just attention seeking behavior.
  3. Heine and Grandal are like 2 sides of a coin. One can hit but is gross defensively (especially the arm) the other is great defensively and putrid with the stick. Rolling with the D guy is probably the play with the running game coming back
  4. I hope it's like basestealing where certain guys just have a red light 100% ofvthe time, and i hope Vlad is one of those guys that has it.
  5. If most casuals had their way, every FO, manager and team employee from every organization that didn't win the World Series would get fired every offseason. Their opinions are like those tiny rocks that work their way into your shoe tread and make weird squeaking noises when you walk.
  6. Scherzer with a stuff+ change at 114 actually makes my dick move.
  7. My expression has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with the content of the article.
  8. I wouldn't love going towards 45 mil AAV, but I could live with it on a term like 9 years... I would want to vomit daily, but..so be it
  9. Quick note, your link for Fernando perez doesn't like to the right Fernando Perez at BR, just a heads up. Good stuff on the list though!
  10. Jansen looking a weeeee bit thicker.
  11. And the ridiculous part... making a post on it to say how bad it is...helps drive traffic. Honestly man, if you really want to help discourage these kinds of articles, not commenting at all is the way to go. Think of trash heaps like this article in wrestling terms. Silence is worse than boos. Oh, and of course, have patience and stuff. Learning... improving blah blah. Davy will have these people creating good content containing with real analysis rather than grade 8 level recess opinions soon.
  12. Agree with this assessment, though we have seen Vlad flirt with 50 and both Bo and Varsho, within a hair of 30. Optimistic outlook for sure, but one of these days there has to be a guy overperform projections right? Just...once?
  13. Best case at this point is just doing what you can to ensure Vlad allows the Jays a chance to match the best offer he gets in FA. Then it's just like the drama never happened. If they're out of it and can trade him at some point and still get that assurance...even better.
  14. He is 100% or he wouldn't be on the field. Point is, there's no reason to try pushing it in game 1 of a meaningless exhibition game when the only goal is to get your reps and not get hurt.
  15. It's his 3rd PA of the spring after a year of calf issues. Going balls out on the basepaths seems pretty stupid.
  16. Can't be true. Nobody ever wants to play in Toronto.
  17. I don't mind deferrals, I think they're an excellent tool that was designed to help smaller market teams have an extra tool at their disposal to retain their star players. However, as wirh most seemingly good ideas, the spirit of their use is being abused by the Dodgers because any type of financial rule like this meant to help lower budget teams, will of course benefit the big boys more if used, which it is. The fix is pretty easy though, you just cap the number of deferred contracts teams can have on their roster. No, it still wouldn't mean every team could get an Ohtani, but it would prevent the deepest of pockets from being able to defer multiple future hall of famers and lower tier stars. Every team still has access to them, just not unlimited access. Fixed.
  18. Absolutely garbage. Tradition, respect for the rules, and the authority of the men who own businesses is clearly eroding before our very eyes. What's next, women voting?
  19. Understandable. Quality over quantity though. I understand an open policy where people can write what they wish. But some of these articles are nothing more than "random thought popped in my head so let's write an article" when they really should be just a comment on a forum topic. I get the balancing act, but some articles don't get comments because they're just not worthy of receiving them.
  20. Not this year but..next? Yeah probably. MLB would have to bring this in as a rule change and I doubt they would do it during a season.
  21. There's not really a debate about it. Go to baseball savant and sort OAA for 1b from 2019 through 2024. Vlad is dead last Do the same thing for baserunning value. He's 4th last of all qualified players. He's not middle of the pack in defense or baserunning, he's literally the 1st percentile.
  22. Yet another "here's a thought that just popped in my head, lets write an article" article.
  23. I think he means he isnt one dimensional like Alonso in that Alonso is a pure power bat, with no hit tool, doesnt walk a lot, strikes out way more. Both are 1 dimensional in that their only value comes from their bats. Vlad's bat just has more dimensions to it than Alonso.
