    Even just looking at this series...Berrios 7IP was great. Lucas 5.1 was f***ing nails, Gausman, ace-like through 8. Pen has had an easy series so far

    I don't recall anyone defending the possibility of Springer hitting at the top of the lineup this season. Some conceded the possibility could happen out of resepct, and have him.on the shortest leash ever, but nobody thought it was a good idea. And it turns out, neither did the Jays...so quit whining about something that never actually happened

    So, the reason it's a 325 million dollar signing bonus.... is because signing bonus amounts are only taxed in players place of residence, which for Vlad is in Florida. Ergo, no state income taxes on 325 million of that 500 million dollar deal, it's only the remaining 175 million taxed based on where his games are played.     With Gausman it's usually as simple as locating his fastball down in the zone well enough, especially early. You can pretty much scroll through his game logs, find the ones where his swing and miss sucks, and see his fastball locations were mostly up, which allows hitters to just "see low, let it go" because they can reasonably guess it's a splitter that won't be a strike. In games where his fastball location is down more than up, he's laughing

    Frankly, extending Bo and signing Tucker would probably be best case scenario right now. 2026 top 4 of of Bo, tucker, vlad, Taters.... there's a lot to like there
