After reading the article and finding out that JPA refused a cortisone s*** or his knee and has been playing hurt all year yet somehow thinking he deserves credit for doing so, I've come to the conclusion that he is bordering on delusional.
Athletes and sports people in general really need to get away from the mentality that playing hurt and performing terribly is something that should be seen as a positive. Who cares of you're playing hurt, you're f***ing up the team with your hero attitude. This belief that playing hurt is somehow putting the team first is ********, people play hurt because they want to be seen as "heroic" and pass it off as being a team guy, when in reality it's the ultimate selfish act. If you really wanted to help the team when you're hurt to the point that you should be on the DL as part of your treatment, you would go on the f***ing DL so that someone who isn't hitting and catching like Helen Keller can come in and actually help the team, rather than putting up practically the worst season in the history of the entire game.
