  1. Burr straight to the 60 day DL. Yup, he's toast Tommy Nance back up to the show. Probably the next DFA too lol
  2. Steward Berroa was DFA by the Dodgers and sent to Milwaukee for cash. Yep. Milwaukee paid the Dodgers
  3. You're not wrong, I just don't see many arms available the Jays need to add that I'd want to part with them over. There was an MLB article/list of 20 starters who could be traded at the deadline, and ...its uninspiring to say the least
  4. Kendry Rojas absolutely shoved over 5 innings tonight.... 5IP, only gave up 2 hits, no walks, struck out 10 and only took 75 pitches. Boss
  5. Griffin Jax would be a great pen target if the Twins sell.
  6. Right around the 15th is my guess. Like most years, teams pour all their mental resources into the draft, then suddenly remember they only have 2 weeks to reinforce their teams
  7. Unfortunately yeah, but good for him to get to go to a place where he'll get a chance to play. Wish the return was at least a warm body, but...oh well
  8. Evaluating the trade in a vacuum...sure. Counterpoint is where the Jays are on the win curve and those extra few win increases mean a lot more. The thing is, why give up solid assets now for a starter that doesnt really nove the needle this season, and is only a replacement for Bassitt for the next few? Figure that out in the offseason. Right now the Jays need top end rotation leader that shoves. Bedard? Yes f***in' please.
  9. I think it's a decent compromise but I'd really just rather the umps have an earpiece that gives them the right calls in real time. Or even better, and this will never happen... if the ump thinks a call is borderline, have them signal for the right call using a button or something that will then give them the right call.
  10. Injury updates: Burr: probably dead Manoah: Tentatively scheduled to move into rehab games after his most recent two-inning live BP went well, but the Blue Jays will continue to evaluate Manoah daily. (updated July 9). Mid to late August return target. Varsho: Status: Continues to run the bases without issue and should progress to rehab games soon. (updated July 9). Possible mid-July return. Sandlin: Felt the elbow discomfort during his recent appearance in Chicago and will continue to be evaluated. (updated July 9). Guesstimate is late July unless damage is found. Right now just inflammation. Santander: Still not swinging the bat, but "hopefully soon," according to John Schneider. (updated July 7). Anyone's guess is as good as theirs on a return date. Late August? Francis: Has thrown one side session at the club's complex in Florida and "is doing all right." (updated July 7) return date is TBD Schultz: Started playing catch on flat ground and will continue to ramp up. (updated July 7). R middle finger inflammation. Yimi: Slipped in the hot/cold tub after a recent appearance against the Yankees, so he will undergo an MRI and the club hoped he just needs some rest through the All-Star break. Tiedeman: nothing really new, his status hasn't been updated since he was throwing on flat ground out to 120 feet in early May. The organization hopes Tiedemann will see game action by the end of 2025.
  11. I really want to see Peyton Williams in just one major league game and mash a HR. Iowa Meat Truck is a nickname that is just on another level.
  12. In other news, water is wet. Give us some real dirt !
  13. Depending on the team they might want Yesavage ++ And it all depends if the ace is a rental or not. Rental acquisition costs are not what they used to be
  14. They've put themselves in a playoff position without him all season and have a completely solid rotation without him.... so trading him away to fill their actual areas of weakness makes a ton of sense, and even more when you factor in the 12ish million dollars it saves them. There's also a defensible argument to keep him but, there's no doubt if they ever want to capitalize on him when they really don't NEED him, it would be at the deadline if he has some great starts between now and July 31
  15. Nah, Vlad would have just watched it go by. at least Barger knows he should be swinging at them
  16. Hell ya, weather save the pen and the streak. Everything is coming up Milhouse.
  17. I really hope they split that series. Id rather neither team make up much ground if the Jays don't do what they should against the As
  18. I believe you to be correct. It would fall under "If a regulation game is terminated early due to weather, the results are considered final if the home team is leading. If the home team is trailing, the results are considered final if the game is not in the midst of an inning when the visiting team has taken the lead." That is the situation they are in. But my bet is they only call it if the rain delay is going to be hours and hours long since tomorrow is a day game. a one hour delay they probably just keep going and play late.
  19. POssible make up dates... July 31st - both are off, Chicago would have just finished a home stand and Jays would be on the road in Baltimore the previous 3 days. Problem though being the Jays are already scheduled for a double dip as a make up game from April during that series and would also mean they would then be playing 21 games in 20 days with no off day. No thanks. August 21st - same situation as above as far as home/away goes but ... this would cause Chicago to be playing 24 days in a row. Pretty sure that's not cool even though they're way out of it. Sept 22, would mean 20 game days in a row for Toronto to end the season. Sept 29 or 30th would be the only real make up days - the 2 days after the season "ends" but theyd only do it if it mattered to the Jays standings .
  20. it could... now that I think about it. TOmorrow's game is already a day game starting at 1pm Chicago time. To play the rest of this game tomorrow before that game they'd have to start at like... 10am. They don't play in Chicago again for the rest of the season, so... what they only way to really complete a suspended game would be to ... play it out directly after tomorrow's game, which would be all kinds of weird.... or try to find an off day on a White Sox home stand that both teams have off to finish off 2.5 innings plus 1 out. That would also be goofy. Maybe they suspend it, and only finish at the tail end of the season if it matters to the Jays playoff seeding.
  21. I doubt they'll call the game if the delay is only expected to be an hour. If they did though, it would go down as 6-1 after 6 innings and 7th would just never have existed correct?
  22. Red Sox are quietly on a bit of a heater, winning 5 straight and now just 1.5 back of Tampa for the last WC spot.
  23. Yanks are making Seattle their bitch right now. At least Tampa lost
  24. Rain delay gonna make sure Bassitt can't go out again. That truly blows.
