    Just really missing a true long man really. We also don't know when Sandlin will be back yet. What the Jays really need is some of the bubble teams to decide if they're sellers or not. Aside from Bednar and a few arms from Baltimore, a ton of the quality relievers are on those bubble teams...Cleveland, Minnesota etc

    Agree on Soto, and Dominguez is actually a really intriguing arm from a stuff standpoint. He misses a ton of bats but walks more than his share amd limits hard contact. He might be a decent Pete Walker special, though id rather see him as an offseason acquisition than a "down-the-stretch" thing where ya try to fix him on the fly.

    I truly don't think anyone's in the FO is counting on Manoah, and his status makes no difference as to their deadline plans As the roster stands today, Gausman probably gets game 1, then Bassitt/Scherzer games 2 and 3 in whatever order with Lauer on standby to pick up after any one of them if they get booted early

    Problem with trading Skenes, or anyone like him, you virtually never win the trade. He's already the best case scenario outcome for anyone you get back. Skenes wont be dealt yet, but if Pittsburgh was even mildly in the mood to do it ... Yesavage, Nimmala, Rojas, Roden, Stephen.... thats probably closer to what a realistic return might be, but still feels light given how much control he has left.

    Im sure they were right there at the end. Im not suggesting the Jays shouldn't have paid it, just that its a pile of guaranteed cash for a guy on the wrong side of 40. I'd have liked to see his signi g at the start of the year with incentives that got up to his 10 million demand rather than a guaranteed amount

    assess after his 30 days. I wonder though was it normal for his sinker to be harder than his 4 seam? But the good thing is he still has option years so he doesnt have to solve any problems this season either way. He could spend the rest of the season in Buffalo, maybe hit winter ball for a few weeks, then come back in the spring.

    No doubt. If hed signed for his requested 10 million at the start of the season hed be owed around 3.5 million for the remainder of this season. 6 million is very steep

    Side note, Peyton "the Iowa Meat Truck" Williams has been sent to the developmental list. He's having a rough time in AA with just an 86 wRC+ and a 31% K rate. Hopefully they can get him back on track.

    83 pitches this time out, 54 strikes. faced 18 hitters so twice through the lineup. Not overly efficient this time out, but still got the job done.

    Jays have 14 games in 13 with no off days coming out of the break. It would be a rough go no matter what teams they were playing. Just win series. Yankees will have revenge on their mind after the last series and Judge is still not human and can own a series really quickly. On the plus side... That's now 10 straight wins at home for the Jays for the first time.

    I suppose it depends on how you define valuable. I tend to think of valuable relievers as ones that strike guys out, make batters swing and miss (ie limit contact), limit walks and when they do allow contact, it should be weak, a ground ball and not a HR. So by the numbers I look at and compare everyone on the Jays roster, Little wins that title hands down even though his walks are starting to be in the real problem area. They generally dont hurt him though because he'll just strike the next guy out or get him to roll over. Yariel is running a .200 babip against right now... which is probably unsustainable, strikes out far fewer batters, gives up more HRs, though definitely walks fewer as well. Little is nearly 60% ground balls when he's not striking everyone out. Yariel around 41% ground balls.

    Little is our best reliever this season and it's not particularly close.

    s***.. yeah forgot about him. So Nance, Green, Y-Rod.... Nance maybe even straight to Y-Rod since he can go 2 well enough

    Who they got left... Pina (OMG PLEASE NO), Green, Nance. Guessing Nance is next and Green is the closer if it ends up that way

    Loperfido is fine out there. You're right in that he's not Straw, but he's good defensively
