    At the risk of nerding myself, the books are much better than the movies. In the books the Borg invaded the federation and laid waste to about half of it before they were beaten back and exterminated. Great mini-series of books around it including the origin of the Borg which, was really cool. The other series as well around Captain Calhoun of the Excalibur was good, the Titan series with Riker as Captain is decent, the series I'm reading now has the president of the Federation assassinated on the new DS9 space station, the old one having been blown up by the Typhon Pact...another great series of books. f***. All my baseball cred is gone now.

    It's even dumber late in games... When you have fewer outs left, giving one of them away is rather silly, especially when you have a plug like Mastro coming up behind him who stinks against RHP.

    Happ throws the same very game, it's just a matter of how disciplined the hitters are who face him. Teams that take close pitches eat him alive, free swinging teams get eaten. He has no real command of his stuff and can't throw quality strikes consistently. He can throw them in the strike zone mostly, But lots of meatballs that some days get crushed, other days don't. He's very volatile.

    Comparatively to his other outings, yes. It's a process. He also only threw 83 pitches, 56 strikes. That, along with 14 ground ball outs means he was in the strike zone consistantly and nobody could get good contact.

    Sanchez with a decent outing tonight. 7 IP, 7 hits, 1 walk, 2 k, 3 earned runs, but the really nice number... 14 groundouts and just 2 fly outs. Sick!

    Happ pitched a half decent game, but the sox were also swinging at everything. Not really sure how much credit to give Happ as I think a more patient team probably would have made him throw those 120 pitches in 2 fewer innings, but he got the job done. It certainly wasn't as dominating a start as the plain numbers suggest.

    He's got to be protected in the rule 5 draft at the end of the season, so while it would be ultra aggressive even if he does hit well... It wouldn't be out of the question.
