Yes, most of those guys with MLB experience will have a clause in their minor league contract saying if they arent added to the roster by X date, they can opt out of the minor league contract to sign elsewhere. That's what happened. -
To a point sure, but this lineup is not as optimal as it could be with even the slightest common sense applied. When you're already down offensively, at least put your best D out there

Youre right in that in only hurts the offense with 1 guy missing, but the defense takes a s***-kick when Tapia is out there. Just saying it would be better to split up the off days

Yeah, but you cant tell me they cant figure out how not to DH Springer and give Chapman a full day off on the same day, especially when 2 other guys just went down. It's not hard to put one of the off days... off for a day to break them up.

I have no problem with them DHing Springer once a week. None at all. I have no problem with Zimmer being used their defensively once a week either. Dude has great defensive chops. It's just weird that they would be scheduling a Chapman off Day to coincide with a Springer DH day. Would seem to make more sense to have Springer in RF, Zimmer in CF, and Chapman as the DH.

Yeah this is a rough lineup. Severino gonna cruise right through this. After Vlad its not very frightening at all, but having Tapia in the 5 hole.... just.... why? Put Biggo there. At there's there's some threat of power there with the ability to work a walk. Kirk is struggling, Tapia is Tapia, Zimmer is Zimmer... Espy isnt scaring anyone despite his new EV. Severino could throw fastballs only for half the lineup and not even worry. -

Yeah, you’re right looks like their offer was just to remove the vesting 20 million language and make it a guaranteed 30. That would never get it done. He’ll be looking for Semien money as a starting point and even that would be pretty low.
