It's weird you say that, it certainly looks like he's been trying to take more pitches, especially the first one as pitchers tend to throw outside the zone with him on the first pitch knowing his agression. Over the plast few games though he's been taking crushable first pitches like he never had the intention of swinging no matter what. Kinda like the pitchers have realized he is consciously laying off the first pitch so they're just lobbing in a cookie for strike 1.

Hindsight judgements are always fun. But, since the start of your so called evidence of the team being poorly run, they've made the playoffs 3 times in 8 seasons. That's hardly evidence of a team being poorly run. Yes, there has been several instances of bad trades and/or signings and/or letting guys walk. What makes that unique to the Jays? go back 10 years and every single team in virtually every major sport will have examples of that. If all you're gonna do is whine and bitch about those instances, regardless of the actual success on the field, and never giving credit for the incredibly successful trades, signings and guys being let go for that same team, then all youre doing is being a f***ing moron. Cherry-picking on only bad decisions without acknowledging the absolute successes that deserve credit (and honestly with the jays over the past 10 seasons, there's far more of those than the failures) then all you look like is a whiny petulant child. Name another team that traded nothing but a s***** left handed reliever got back Cy Young winner AND had that team throw in cash? Name another team that traded a struggling 33 year old lefty reliever for a playable bench piece PLUS a starting right fielder who would be a 2 time silver slugger winner within 3 years? Go back further in that trade to how they even obtained that reliever and how he actually contributed well as a starter before losing it and it's even more impressive. In short, you're a f***ing buffoon pretending to have knowledge, when all you do is whine about the negatives without acknowledging the positives. You know what those people are called? After last night, the Jays are 6-0 when the ump isnt blind and affects the game by less than 1 run. Are now 2-5 when the ump's calls affect the game by more than 1 run. Looking at the favoring... the Jays have had calls go their way in 7 games and are 6-1. (some caveats apply, last nights favoring was 0.03 runs overall, so basically a wash) When they arent favored, they are 2-4. Secondary trend is developing, whenever the run impact is minimal (ie less than .6 of a run overall) that's usually when the calls are in the Jays favor. When the calls are terrible and impact by more than a run, it almost always favors the opponent.

Not a damn thing, i just didnt see the game. Thought I should check in with the resident baseball expert to see how the game really went. I mean, the Jays won, but obviously the ends dont always justify the means.

Stripling is always due to get lit up, so anything around 3 or 4 ER in 5 innings would be awesome. Houston is struggling with the bats right now so maybe we get lucky, stick it to Verlander and manage to keep enough runs off the board to keep the Ws going. If I was betting on the game though I would have money on Houston.
