  1. Look at Jansen, he had 0.5 WAR over 8 PA in 3 games. He was on pace for like 20 WAR. INSANITY! WRC+ of 535 with positive baserunning and defense. MVP form
  2. Anything I can do to help put you in a bad mood?
  3. I read that one of the Armed Forces generals caught the game the other day when Tapia nailed the runner at second. He was so impressed that now the ground firing missiles are being called "Ramiels" Impressive.
  4. yup. not that driving to Spokane for baseball is even that hard from here, its only about 7 hours through some of the best scenery you'll ever see, so when the Canadians go there for a series it can be a decent weekend trip... if their series falls on a weekend. July 22-24 is circled on the calendar, but I dont know yet if I can make that. Septembers weekend series is unlikely as I'll probably be back in classes by then and working weekends.
  5. I agree for the cookie cutter outfields that all have the exact same shape and curve from pole to pole, that's boring. My point is if the only way stadium designers (and fans) can accept something as quirky and interesting is to completely break the dimension rules, then ... there's not much actual thoguht going into it. On the flip side, Marlins stadium is very quirky - and an eyesore from the 7th circle of hell
  6. That's open to debate. I think its fine to have quirks, as long as you confrim the most basic rules sets of how far the fences need to be at the corners, and in CF. hell, Make the OF wall a weird shaped waveform all the way around that changes in height from 5 feet to 40 for all I care, as long as its 325 Feet down each line and 400 in CF minimum. This notion that the only way to have a quirky OF is to bring the walls in is lazy. Besides, they dont get to play with the other dimensions of anything else? Wouldnt it be quirky is the pitching mound at RC was only 55 feet? What a quirk! Basepath from home to first is 90 feet, but 1st to second and second to 3rd is only 75, then 90 home again. OMG how quirky! And please understand im not meaning to go off on YOu specifically, but field dimension stuff is one of those things that really set me off for some reason.
  7. Espinal has been a revelation. Incredible get by the brass for Steve Pearce.
  8. Grant is on the sknny side though. I figure i could probably swing him as a bat. We'll get him a nice helmet to protect his brain (scientists are needed) and see what happens.
  9. You called out the tough guy. The tough guys answers and now you’re backing away like a bitch. Typical mouthpiece. All talk until he gets into trouble than tucks his dick and runs away, while pretending he’s the upstanding citizen. You’re a joke. Do the baseball world a favour and take up knitting. Your new name is Richard Tucker.
  10. Yeah that was the Pioneer League, it’s gone from being affiliated with MLB when the Minor League restructuring that eliminated multiple rookie levels of ball took place. Now it’s an independent league, so it’s far less interesting
  11. Yeah. I loved it when the Diamondbacks had their rookie ball affiliate in Lethbridge. Now the whole league and level of ball is gone. Closest minor league team to me now is in Spokane.
  12. Anytime anywhere idiot. I’m 6’6 and 300 pounds. I’ll rip your f***in head off and s*** down your neck
  13. It's weird you say that, it certainly looks like he's been trying to take more pitches, especially the first one as pitchers tend to throw outside the zone with him on the first pitch knowing his agression. Over the plast few games though he's been taking crushable first pitches like he never had the intention of swinging no matter what. Kinda like the pitchers have realized he is consciously laying off the first pitch so they're just lobbing in a cookie for strike 1.
  14. Are you kidding, we gonna get destroyed. I just put this up to keep other posters GDT record positive (reverse cheering psychology)
  15. You really think that's possible?
  16. Hindsight judgements are always fun. But, since the start of your so called evidence of the team being poorly run, they've made the playoffs 3 times in 8 seasons. That's hardly evidence of a team being poorly run. Yes, there has been several instances of bad trades and/or signings and/or letting guys walk. What makes that unique to the Jays? go back 10 years and every single team in virtually every major sport will have examples of that. If all you're gonna do is whine and bitch about those instances, regardless of the actual success on the field, and never giving credit for the incredibly successful trades, signings and guys being let go for that same team, then all youre doing is being a f***ing moron. Cherry-picking on only bad decisions without acknowledging the absolute successes that deserve credit (and honestly with the jays over the past 10 seasons, there's far more of those than the failures) then all you look like is a whiny petulant child. Name another team that traded nothing but a s***** left handed reliever got back Cy Young winner AND had that team throw in cash? Name another team that traded a struggling 33 year old lefty reliever for a playable bench piece PLUS a starting right fielder who would be a 2 time silver slugger winner within 3 years? Go back further in that trade to how they even obtained that reliever and how he actually contributed well as a starter before losing it and it's even more impressive. In short, you're a f***ing buffoon pretending to have knowledge, when all you do is whine about the negatives without acknowledging the positives. You know what those people are called? Pricks. f***heads. Babies. Insufferable ****s. Bellyacher, crybaby, grumbler, moaner, sniveller, squawker, whiner. Take your pick. You think you're so brilliant but you couldnt carry anyone else on this board's jockstrap when it comes to general baseball knowledge, let alone the Blue Jays. Make like a tree and f*** off
  17. Even longer if traffic sucks.
  18. After last night, the Jays are 6-0 when the ump isnt blind and affects the game by less than 1 run. Are now 2-5 when the ump's calls affect the game by more than 1 run. Looking at the favoring... the Jays have had calls go their way in 7 games and are 6-1. (some caveats apply, last nights favoring was 0.03 runs overall, so basically a wash) When they arent favored, they are 2-4. Secondary trend is developing, whenever the run impact is minimal (ie less than .6 of a run overall) that's usually when the calls are in the Jays favor. When the calls are terrible and impact by more than a run, it almost always favors the opponent.
  19. Excellent Barry Horowitz example, but his heyday in jobbing to the stars was the 90s. Aside from that, perfect post.
  20. Not a damn thing, i just didnt see the game. Thought I should check in with the resident baseball expert to see how the game really went. I mean, the Jays won, but obviously the ends dont always justify the means.
  21. Stripling is always due to get lit up, so anything around 3 or 4 ER in 5 innings would be awesome. Houston is struggling with the bats right now so maybe we get lucky, stick it to Verlander and manage to keep enough runs off the board to keep the Ws going. If I was betting on the game though I would have money on Houston.
