  1. DFA Capra makes space on the 40 man. Gage, Thornton or Castillo goes down. Nothing to lose sleep over really.

Dunno man, if you looks at some of his numbers, they are right up there with the best of them. No Cup, but 2 Olympic gold medals. 10th highest save percentage all time and the highest all time of all goaltenders who played more than 900 games (that list is 8 names long has Brodeur, Sawchuk, Roy, Belfour, CuJo, Glenn Hall and Marc Andre Fleury on it) 2nd most games played. 4th most wins. 9th most shutouts. Seems pretty Hall worthy to me. But when youi play the vast majority of your career in FLorida and Vancouver... you get to fly under the radar alot.
  3. Waht's more surprising is the negative D contribution. He's pretty solid defensively.
  4. The positives: all it costs is money and maybe he recaptures lightning in a bottle and provides some value. The negatives: The second part of the above is probably not true.
  5. Yeah selling is a bit much. But I would not be shocked to see someone unexpected get traded in the right deal. Jansen is a clear trade bait option, and honestly I think Teo or Gurriel could be also in the right deal.
  6. The only problem with your point here is Wilner would never call them the Indians even when they were the Indians. He’d be a beta f*** and call them the Clevelands.
  7. In deep leagues with big minor league rosters, why not?
  8. Props to Winker for taking on the entire Angels bench with late backup. Dude was pissed at someone. Good brawl too and just when you think it’s about settle down, it starts again!
  9. Chase rate and walk rate. Pretty much means his fastball isn’t being located well enough to make the offspeed stuff in the zone effective
  10. Ryu’s injury has effectively resulted in him being cut. Then I think it would be Walker, then Montoyo. Nobody gonna cut a guy in the first year of a 7 year deal, and Kikuchi would probably just relegated to the pen until he becomes tradeable
  11. Crap, I actually agree with Tabler that Berrios needs to wear this one rather than going to the pen. It’s a sad f***in day when I agree with Tabler.
  12. And what about Berrios… dude is legit lost right now it seems. Berrios and Kikuchi are a constant migraine for the team right now.
  13. Ffs, want to buy consistent starting pitching? Good luck.
  14. No doubt, now if they just punt Tapia into the sun somehow
  15. Naw, not out the window, they just would never really use optional waivers on someone they truly cared about keeping.
  16. What’s gonna be interesting these next few seasons is how the less power/more contact guys do. With far more swing and miss in the game today, there will be a point that the doubles power contact guys (assuming they can still play D well enough of course) will be back to being sexy again to provide a solid floor rather than the high ceiling Especially if the shift gets banned and more grounders will be getting through
  17. The 5 year thing is about outright waivers. There’s like 5 or more different kinds of waivers in MLB
  18. It’s to protect players that have never been optioned from being optioned for no reason other than to f*** with service time.
  19. I don’t think he can refuse, but since it’s been more than 3 calendar years since his first appearance, he cannot be optioned to the minors without clearing optional assignment waivers. Basically, the Jays would have to put him on the waivers, and if any team put in a claim they’d have to pull him back. Then, they can’t try to option him again or it becomes irrevocable and he either gets claimed by another team for no return, or he goes to the minors and remains on the 40 man roster.
  20. Since when is Bo’s defense sub-par? It’s not elite sure, but he’s no ham fisted butcher. Yeah, he’s gonna sail a throw or two every once in a while, but he’s still a decent defensive SS. Also, he’ll probably be closer to his career 120 wrc+ by the end of the season than he is to league average with the bat. Horrendous April is behind him.
  21. Yeah, but he should never be near the top or middle of the lineup with the other bats on this team. Hit him 7th-9th. The top 6 (assuming health) should be about as close to being written in stone as it gets. Springer, Bo, Vlad, Kirk, Teo, and Lourdes are all superior hitters and a pretty solid case for Biggio also. Chapman is also a far more dangerous hitter overall, though he’s a bit volatile. And for the love of Christ on a cracker can we stop hitting Tapia 6th?
  22. Yeah that. Probably made any team interested just back right off right away
  23. If I remember right, it ended early with some sort of slight strain or something to the same hamstring area that he had injured previously.
  24. Good god Kirk is on fire
  25. Espinal down to about exactly a league average hitter now. Still amazing D. Give the guy a friggin day off though
