  1. Possibly, but his numbers this year at a higher level are already pretty much equal to his High A numbers from last year, so he's not getting worse. He's just getting challenged by the higher competition and needs to make probably more than 1 adjustment to get back on track. He won't figure out how to hit AA pitching at A+.
  2. Well, results have been largely good, but there's some definite concern in his underlying numbers that could indicate he could be due for some much worse results. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/jordan-romano-605447?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb Those top 6 category percentile rankings are not good at all.
  3. Orelvis completely dumped out of the top 100 is a bit shocking, even though he's not having a barn-burner of a year, he's still 20 at AA, murders baseballs when he does connect, and has a defensive position on the left side of the IF. That's usually at least top 50 worthy from BA. They must be terrified of his hit tool
  4. Nah. They can both unload on balls with regularity with their loads, so... I don't see the problem.
  5. I agree with this. I dont miss home plate collisions, and they don't add anything to the game.
  6. This sucks so much, fouling off all these balls outside the zone just gives Archer no need to throw strikes
  7. Stolen by the ump show, should been a 4 pitch walk
  8. Ah well, when u get 3 or 4 extra balls as a pitcher, chances are you’re gonna win the encounter
  9. Ball 6… still a full count
  10. He’s guessing now that anything outer half is a breaking ball that will end up outside and just not swinging. Bad approach atm
  11. Ball 4…. No wait…ump show means it’s 2-2
  12. Some nice ink on the waitress’ leg back there
  13. CHappy should eat Archer alive
  14. Beauty. Bichette has found a home in the 5 spot
  15. 91 , straight fastball, inner half, thigh high…let’s it go by? Nice single next pitch but ya gotta let it fly on a meatball like that
  16. Twins are sitting on the change 100% right now
  17. Yes, but you’re still ignoring the part of the argument that once a ball is contacted by the bat, the pitcher has 0 control over the outcome of the play. Therefore, it is illogical to allocate the outcomes of said contact against the pitcher as something that is based on skill. If two pitchers give up the nearly the same amount of ground balls over a season, and 1 pitcher gives up 50 more runs than another, saying that one pitcher is therefore worse than the other based on runs allowed(which is what bWAR does) isn’t nearly as useful as it seems.
  18. Angles just hit 7 solo HRs in their game to account for all their runs (1st time in MLB ever) and lost.
  19. Man, if Vlad is looking the other way and is pulling-off like that, not sure what to say
  20. Every swing he’s favouring the right arm, can we just sit the guy please? Give him a 10 day DL now that Merrifield is here. Can tell his swing is all kinds of broken right now.
  21. And only swung at 1 of them. Yeah just a PA where he was guessing at what was coming and guessing wrong
  22. Just can’t locate the fastball right now
  23. Ground balls go for hits more often than flyballs, but generally do less damage. It's something that evens out over the course of a season and a pitcher cannot truly control what happens when he induces a ground ball, that's why it's not overly important when judging a pitcher's skill. Can have a guy with a 60% ground ball rate that sucks just as easily as a pitcher with a 30% GB rate. That's why K rate and walk rate are more important.
  24. Not really, he was in the majors from 22-25 putting up .800 OPS seasons. He didnt reach stardom until later, but he was still a pretty good hitter early on and made the bigs at a young age. Not what I would call a late bloomer when comparing to guys like Donaldson.
