  1. WHat the absolute f*** just happened. That was the worst plate appearance of the entire game and he hit a HR
  2. Vlad needs to be ready for 96 and not miss it.
  3. Only Springer could foul a pitch off both of his own legs…lol
  4. Wheeler just straight challenging the hitters with gas and they can’t hit it. Dirty fastball tonight
  5. Jesus, Striploin just mowing them down. Can we get this guy for the rest of the season please?
  6. I was at the default for posts per page, you guys are probably set to 40.
  7. Sure, but you said those concerns only came after the closed door meeting that the players had a few games ago. No chance that's when the brass found out. it would have been weeks before that they knew there was a problem, and were giving him a shot to right the ship.
  8. All-Star outfielder Andrew Benintendi, first baseman Hunter Dozier, second baseman Whit Merrifield, outfielder Michael A. Taylor and outfielder Kyle Isbel all will miss the trip. Ditto for catchers MJ Melendez and Cam Gallagher and pitchers Brad Keller, Brady Singer and Dylan Coleman. Guess that closes the door on a Benintendi trade, he's one of the guys not vaxxed.
  9. Exactly. Every manager in baseball today will be fired at some point or has been fired multiple times. It doesn't necessarily mean the hire was wrong in the first place, just that it's no longer right... now.
  10. Nah. From all reports so far, this road was started on prior to that. The bottom line was, he lost the room. How he lost the room doesnt really matter at this point. It was probably not just 1 thing, but a combination as that's how these things usually play out. He just wasnt the right guy, they finally realized it, gave him a chance to reclaim it over the past few weeks, realized it was futile and finally did somethign about it.
  11. I dont think he should burn the jacket. He should bring a s***** straw scarecrow into the dugout that just happens to look like Montoyo, maybe with some bongos attached, hang it in the corner, and put the HR jacket on it. Then DARE some fool to take the jacket off it and see what happens.
  12. July 13 Vladdy - 1 Point - Kirk - 1 Point - Springer - 1 Point - Bichette - 2 Points - Chapman - 2 Points - Hernández - 2 Points - JaysAllMighty Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Spanky69 Espinal - 6 Points - Tapia - 8 Points - Stangstag, Jays4life19 Off the bench: 10 Points - Atkins - 500 million points - John_Havok: already hit the biggest HR of the year by firing Montoyo.
  13. I think this wins the internet today.
  14. It's actually interesting now that Schneider is getting a shot at the big club as interim manager. He played his entire minor league career with the Jays (after saying f*** you to the tigers when they tried to draft him) and as soon as it was over, signed on as the jays minor league catching instructor. Worked his way up to manager at Vancouver (short season A at the time and at the time was the youngest manager in Jays history at any level). In fact he's been the manager at every level in the Jays system except AAA, and won championships at 3 of those levels. This has Blue Jays success story written all over it.
  15. I hope he grabs Tapia, holds him down with one hand, shaves those ridiculous dreadlocks with the other and tells him he needs to earn them back.
  16. Anyone who isnt a blue jays rookie... so like nearly all of them.
  17. Then keep up the good work. i've got another great thread ready to go if the Jays lose tonight.
  18. Suffice to say - he'd lost the clubhouse and it was time to go. Anything beyond that is immaterial. Time to move on.
  19. Dont read too much into the press conference. Its not like he was gonna come out and say "yeah, Charlie was a f***ing tool with no clue. He'd never hold anyone accountable and was more interested in his bongos than the lineups. Total muppet. Everything will be totally different going forward."
  20. Lame duck seasons are..... lame.
  21. He's starting Tapia in his first game as manager. THis is not a good start.
  22. Just getting ahead of the game.
  23. To be fair to Vlad, he knows if his foot was on the bag or not, the video room only knows what it kinda looks like from certain angles. He KNEW, the video room thought they knew. As for the mini-tantrum by Vlad - yeah, can't let that slide. You take him aside and you tell him straight up that regardless of how you feel in the moment, it's the managers call to make and just because it goes against what you said to do, doesnt mean you get to throw a hissy fit. You're a professional. Bring us your thoughts in the dugout during the next half inning and we'll go down the hall and talk about it without it showing anyone up and setting a bad examnple for your teammates. Your a valued leader in the clubhouse Vlad, so act like it. Now get the f*** out of here and go have the kind of at bat everyone here knows you can have. The end.
  24. Only took 87 pages!!! A new record.
