  1. Should we find their forum and send them a thank you post?
  2. Well holy s***. This is the best news Ive heard all day
  3. Youre right, they dont know, which is why all they can go on is what they see. I, for one, would love to see Vlad come up to the plate, stare down the pitcher and show a little more intensity from time to time. Doesnt have to be every AB or even every game. But when Vlad got fired up during that bench clearing incident, that's the kind of intensity i want to see at the plate every one in a while.
  4. What you say is true, but its hard from a fan's perspective to watch a guy like him who oozes talent take absolutley horrible cuts at the plate, look completely lost (last night was just... wtf) make mental errors in the field (the 1b missed bag...wtf?!) and be all smiley and goofy in the dugout afterwards. It give's the impression that he doesnt care. It gives the impression that he's totally okay with being utter s*** for games at a time, costing the Jays runs and possibly wins, as long as he's having fun. That's not what a fan wants to see. Now that of course likely isnt true, you dont get to the level of any sport he's at without caring. On the flip side it's also incredibly cringey what Sale did the other day in the minors, trashing the clubhouse after pitching like crap. But, at least that kind of reaction fans can understand and somewhat relate to, given we've all had days at work where we come home and want to smash the s*** out of something. We probably don't, but we can understand the feeling and relate. People can't relate to the "ho hum, it's fine even though i sucked today and yesterday and the day before, and have lost 8 out of 9 games."
  5. In his defense, he beat the throw. just slid off.
  6. Sweet. The RH lineup of death!
  7. yeah you f***ers kept getting married and having kids, kinda puts a strain on availability. Whatever the case may be, the 1 Jays minor leaguer we spoke to made the big leagues (for Boston sure... ) so I call the entire thing a success.
  8. There's no way he can play average LF or he'd be playing there already, most likely. They could probably stick him out there occasionally if you had to to give a guy a day off, but that's about it.
  9. To be fair, you have 0 idea what goes on behind the Jays clubhouse doors and youre making assumptions based on the extremely limited viewings youve had of Charlie during his interviews. Just sayin... you(or any of us) don't KNOW anything about what he does when the cameras arent on. he could be doing exactly what youre suggesting and it's not working either.
  10. I'm working on a long piece about swing decisions, and how much worse the jays are at this than last year. It's coming soon. It may not be a 100% "this explains everything" thing... but it's most certainly a factor.
  11. At the very least, make a couple hitting order changes. Lets get the top guys at the top of the order consistently at least until some of the other bats come around. It's really frustratind seeing rallies killed in certain spots in the order nearly every time through.
  12. Ray vs Tapia…lol May as well just write down the K and save the time.
  13. So…Rodon would have taken 3/36 vs 2/44 ?
  14. From the camera angle, it looked like a balk. Rays right foot crossed his left knee slightly which should mean he had to throw home. Umps missed it imo.
  15. Hard to strike guys when you have to throw 5 of them…this ump is pretty bad
  16. My guess would be after last nights game. Someone needed to step forward and tell the kids to stop worrying about having good vibes, and start to focus more on being staying in the game mentally. Good vibes are fine, nothing wrong with having a good time. Just know when to crank up the intensity. Oh and fire Montoyo.
  17. Yup, just saw that about Kinley. Too bad, he could have been a nice add
  18. What would Jansen for McCormick look like. Nvm, figured out how to play with that site. Jansen for MCCormick and Urquidy is about equal. Not that Houston is going to trade Urquidy anyways
  19. Don’t misunderstand me either, he’s better than our current #5 but he’s sure as hell not someone that would be the centrepiece of a Moreno trade like the Houston fan suggests.
  20. Am I looking at a different Urquidy than you are? His underlying numbers are very meh.
  21. Didn’t say they would do it…Houston would probably have to add a sweetener like….that Cf prospect in high A. He looks fun
  22. Urquidy and Odirizzi aren’t BAD per se, but they certainly wouldn’t be the kind of arms people target via trade when someone like Moreno is involved. He’s a consensus top 10 prospect in baseball. A GM would be burned at the stake for trading him for a 4/5 starter like Odorizzi or Urquidy. In your own words, Gurriel is okay value, McCormick is filler. So your trade has us giving up the best prospect in the trade, the best OF in the trade and a no value bum in Biggio for two average to below average starters, a worse prospect, a worse outfielder and two mid tier prospects that are even worse than Lee. Do you see the problem here?
  23. There’s so much wrong with this trade I won’t bother going into immense detail. It’s just not realistic. Why would the Jays trade a young, highly touted catcher, a very decent starting OF, and a very average Jack of some trades for a middling starter to crap, a confirmed crap starter, a worse catcher and an average OF with some upside? A more realistic ask from the Jays would be like Danny Jansen for MCormick.
  24. Joe Jimenez - Detroit Tyler Kinley - Colorado If I’m Atkins I’m definitely targeting relievers and probably bench depth. The offense/defense starters are legitimately fine and with even half of them starting to track back to their career norms or projections …fine. Starting pitching….unless the perfect trade scenario manifests, I don’t think they really target anything here. The top 3 of Berrios, Gausman and Manoah will be relied upon, Stripling is the de facto 4 and has been fine, and will probably continue to be fine. The 5 spot is a problem but we all know Kikuchi is going to get another shot at this once his whiplash “injury” heals. Improve the bench and the pen by dealing from strengths (Jansen) and cutting bait (Tapia and however many crap relievers deserve to be punted) and the team looks immensely better without taking anything away from the core.
