  1. Nothing really wrong with his glove. It's about average for his career and had been trending up over the past 3 seasons. The only thing to really fix is the borderline comatose plate approach.
  2. How'd you know wilko's nickname?
  3. Turner, probably not, but KK can be dealt with some cash. Elite OF D and speed always has a place on a contender. Savings likely wouldnt be tremendous, but could get some lottery ticket back
  4. I'm reminded of the hitting instructor we had on the Radio Scouts podcast, I still recall one specific thing he mentioned ... about how to teach a swing and he said something like... "Put a ball on a tee a certain distance from a fence, tell the kid to hit the ball over the fence and in a few years he'll have a great swing
  5. Can't wait for the 4 fWAR Biggio to return
  6. Or if Vlad had 15-20 HRs like his talent should allow him to hit instead of 7
  7. Careful, anyone with power will immediately be converted to a single slap-happy powerless weakling by the time he's 20
  8. Probably. But any hopes for a burn-it-down type fire sale are misplaced. The suits would never authorize a Baltimore style tank job where you play .325 baseball for 4 years trying to nail those top picks. It doesn't make any sense given the Jays also wouldn't get the small market comp picks to really up their bonus pools. It's gonna be constant retooling, swinging trades, hitting on a few international signing and hoping you somehow start developing these picks from 15-20 The real rebuild has to happen in the development system starting with the right philosophy on what tools you want your guys to possess. The parade of "excellent contact, we'll try to teach them power later" is not working
  9. Horwitz playing 2b will cut into his playing time. Can't really avoid that unless you firmly plant KK on the pine.
  10. Shane Dawson alnost made it a few years back and he was born here in Alberta, Macko was born in Slovakia, just moved here early on.
  11. Seems to me they have the playing time split just about right. Kirk, when playing more often, seems to suck with the bat. Defense will be there regardless. Jansen is no slouch defensively either. Struggling a bit with the bat right now but while he's healthy, ya gotta ride him. never know when he takes the next pitch off his wrist.
  12. As as bench guy only, not a starter I'm cool with Biggio. He brings a high floor, versatility on D, speed and a decent baseball IQ. Not sure what else people want in a bench guy. As a starter... hell no. Yes, he makes too much money for the bench role, I get that and he'd probably be someone they'd non-tender after 2024 and try to re-sign at a lower number or lose him. I like tools and versatility on the bench to fill very specific needs at a given time rather than trying to shoe-horn a 1b/DH in at 2nd because he might hit a few points higher in batting average.
  13. I'm just generally wary of high OBP low power output guys with the gap in quality pitching from AAA to the majors, coupled with the lack of other tools. I agree he deserves a chance though.
  14. Literally none of what you said makes any sense. None of Vlads accolades from 2021 and prior make a damn bit of difference if he's a 3WAR 1B/DH in 2024 and 2025 going to FA heading into 2026 4 straight meh seasons weigh more than 1 MVP level season
  15. Ikf you beautiful bastard
  16. Most of what you say is true, except the 1b/DH position doesn't follow that rule. It's not the AAV that's the problem with the contract but the 10 year part. There's just 0 reason to sign a guy like Vlad to a 10 year deal as a 3WAR 1b/DH.
  17. Heh, dumb bunt, it worked perfectly for the Jays except for horseshit bad luck that a the worst contact imaginable falls in. Just gotta laugh at that This is all on the offense...yet again

And yet the OIlers can't be upset at their effort or game plan. They carried the play, got way more chances and just got stoned by a hot goalie. Stick to that and they likely come home 1-1.
  19. oh i agree its pathetic to throw him out for a sign, but the level of ignorance to equate it to a Freedom of Speech issue is just as pathetic.
  20. You're actually so far past wrong it's astounding.
  21. HIs velo seems down, hes usually up around 94.
  22. What pathetic is equating Freedom Of Speech with a sign at a baseball game
  23. Eh? No, I think DFAing Biggio is a mistake when guys like Vogelbach are still here. Biggio gives you defensive flex and speed. Horwitz gives you maybe the same OBP, likely the same or worse power, slowest footspeed on the team likely except for Kirk and Vogelbach, and no defensive utility. Replacing Biggio with Horwitz is just dumb, unless Horwitz is set to magically increase his game power at the big league level
  24. Nobody is paying 10/250 for a 1b/DH who can't hit at least 40 bombs on the regular. 8/168 for Olsen sets the bar. Vlad isn't anything close to Olsen even being several years younger when he signs his deal. Same deal for Freeman though a larger discrepancy in age. If Vlad was hitting like even 85% of 2021 Vlad and had been for the past 3 seasons. And continued to do right up until.his contract expired, sure 300 million might be on the table. Zero teams will pay 300 million for a 3war 1b/DH
