  1. They say defense wins championships, but it sure isn't playing out that way so far.
  2. Don't be fooled by the errors. That's FOUR free outs they have handed us. The Springer foul ball to Kepler, the Springer grounder to Polanco, the Kiermaier grounder to Polanco, and the Chapman grounder to Julien. We MUST take advantage.
  3. Splitters in the zone and sliders are working. The aren't even thinking of offering at the split. The adjustment is a little late, unfortunately.
  4. Lopez is putting guys on and we've had three defensive miscues by the Twins that gave us extra outs already. We can't be making bonehead baserunning, damn. Certainly not Rivera's fault.
  5. Donaldson had stuff on pitchers all of the time. The guy is some kind of savant when it comes to reading them. He stood behind the plate when he was on deck to watch them.
  6. I thought that was gone, damn.
  7. They were good. People in the thread are watching them out of the zone and thinking his command is awful or something. Watch Kirk's glove, he's hitting it. It's like people have never watched Gaus or something.
  8. How many times have you watched Gausman? Players always always, always swing at the splitter in the location he threw to Lewis. The guy didn't even flinch.
  9. I know it obviously isn't cheating, but it doesn't help you from feeling like your team and players are being cheated. The method is different, but the result is the same as the trashcan.
  10. The box on the screen isn't always in the right place. Look at Lewis here, it's too low.
  11. The bottom line was a bit off. You can see that was a ball if you watch his knees.
  12. He just got Polanco out on one.
  13. It usually is, but they aren't swinging at it, so perhaps not.
  14. I want to see more sliders next inning. They are sitting fastball every time he throws it. It seems to me that they recognize splitter, but not the other pitches.
  15. I criticize the Jays coaching staff, but we're not going to see it on TV if they don't.
  16. Wallner takes a wild swing at the sweeper, much like an earlier batter on the slider. They don't even flinch at the splitter. Not knowing what they see is so annoying. I've never seen Gaus throw a sweeper. Maybe he should use it more.
  17. That clearly wasn't directed at you.
  18. Lopez looks quite hittable. For all of the whining about Gausman, he's hit the glove a lot more than his counterpart.
  19. I wholeheartedly agree. You and I have watched baseball long enough to know when something's up. That's the great thing about baseball. You notice things that you would have missed when a newer fan, like many in this thread. So much nuance.
  20. He is throwing the splitter where Kirk is asking for it. They absolutely, 100%, unquestionably know when it is coming. Gausman knows it, Dan and Buck know it. You can easily tell. Tip your cap to their coaching staff. Massive failure to ours.
  21. Three sliders already. He knows that they are aware when the splitter is coming.
  22. Clearly the coaching staff wasn't able to identify the tell that the Twins have on Gausman. Massive, massive failure on their part. Gaus is throwing 97 on the black, but they know what is coming.
  23. That was Varsho's fault, if anyone. It's loud there, things will happen.
  24. Flashbacks of last year. Yikes.
