  1. I have a hard time believing that unless they have really long legs and a short upper body. A large doesn't even make it to my waist and an XL is sometimes too small even.
  2. You can't please everyone. I'm 6'6 with wide shoulders, so XL is a necessity. If it's long sleeve, I don't even bother trying. Large seems like a fair compromise for everyone though.
  3. Trevor Plouffe is an interesting possibility to fill a hole at 1B/RF if we have money to spend and don't want to use prospect capital. He's in the midst of a rather poor season, but doesn't K a lot and has some power. A real nice bench or platoon piece.
  4. Yeah I brought him up, good insurance at both of our positions of need. As much as I don't think Cola will produce, he's worth a look before we trade for anyone though.
  5. Relievers deserve representation in the all-star game, not that I support those choices entirely.
  6. I didn't know Kelvim Escobar still pitched.
  7. Russ came off the bag, Royals are dumb to not challenge.
  8. David Hernandez and Andrew Bailey fit the mould.
  9. I'd consider Steve Pearce if Bautista proves to be out longer than expected, but I think most of the resources should be spent on the bullpen and starting pitching depth.
  10. Do you really think he'd be like that today? His antics were probably no worse than Manny Machado types today when taken in context.
  11. I would respond, but you quoted me and didn't read what I said. You may agree with me.
  12. I get what you're trying to say and it's a tough subject to discuss. Babe Ruth didn't take care of his body like today's athletes and he didn't have access to the same on and off the field technology ao obviously he wouldn't be very good today. However, it's absurd to think that Mike Trout would be miles ahead of guys like Ruth and Cobb had he been born in 1900. The genetics are the same, society and technology have changed. I think it's silly to single out a gneration as inferior ballplayers.
  13. What makes you say there were fewer great players in 1923? You had the greatest hitter (Ruth) and greatest pitcher (Johnson) of all time, not to mention Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Rogers Hornsby, and a laundry list of other hall of famers. I'd almost call it a golden age of star players.
  14. I was a little disappointed when we didn't try a squeeze in extra innings. Their corner infielders were way back and Barney was up in a good count.
  15. Scoring a lot of runs today doesn't mean we will score fewer in the future to balance it out, even if it seems like that sometimes.
  16. A little competition would probably be good for the team and provide better quality and/or lower prices for the fans.
  17. I'm not certain, you know a lot more than I do when it comes to the financial side of things. I do know that your average ticket price would be off though. Ive read that a sizeable percentage of ticket sales goes to the visiting team. Helps to be in the AL East.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if your average fan spends $50+ in the stadium though.
  19. I don't think we sell either, but there's nothing wrong with being prepared. I'd be taking calls and discussing all of our free agents just in case.
  20. 'Wheelchair people' ...oh Buck
  21. It feels like Kluber is tipping his pitches. We're hitting some tough ones with authority.
  22. I was basing it on the run expectancy and the difference in matchups between Saunders and Martin. I was trying to dumb it down for you because you haven't displayed any critical thinking, but the facts are clearly on the side of walking Saunders.
