  1. I agree completely. The issue I have with many on this forum is that they believe they can evaluate players using only stats. I've always been the biggest proponent of the balanced approach.
  2. You can easily see the talent in some young players even if the numbers don't immediately show it. Use whatever example you wish, but Bergman was fresh in my mind.
  3. We've got no good reason to waste a 40 man roster spot on Urena in 2016 and in the offseason when we don't have to. It's not happening.
  4. I'm not sensing intent on that one.
  5. I wish we would stop hitting solo homeruns.
  6. Let's tee off on Moylan.
  7. He pulled a Bobby Valentine and got himself suspended.
  8. He still does in my opinion. The curve and change have been effective, but that's almost entirely because of his fastball that he throws more than 3/4 of the time. He can carve up a lineup first time through on just one pitch and then mix in his secondaries later. That's extremely difficult for a hitter.
  9. You missed the obvious precisely because you weren't using your head. His stuff is so good that he doesn't need to change speeds. He still doesn't do it with any regularity. I'm not going to argue semantics with you, but suffice to say his command was good enough in multiple innings out of the 'pen to make it plainly obvious that he had made some adjustments (and no I don't know what they were). Even in spring training, it was clear that he was ready to be a good starting pitcher.
  10. Looking at his talent instead of his numbers isn't nonsensical. The Astros would trade us Alex Bergman for a PTBNL now if that were the case. We saw him with excellent command in the bullpen and it should have been obvious to everyone that he was just a small mechanical adjustment away. Instead of admitting that you were unable to evaluate this properly, you pretend that he made this magical transformation. It's always that way when stat scouts are wrong.
  11. I have no faith in the voters, so no.
  12. Your closer has to step up to the plate in save situations. He's mixed in Barnes and Biagini in set up situations and used Grilli for a save, but there's only so much he can do.
  13. But he's handsome
  14. Who is in the booth?
  15. I don't get the hate for Benoit. I can't remember any hard contact since the trade.
  16. I have confidence in Benoit. Swing and miss stuff is nice in late innings.
  17. Why didn't Smoak go to 1B?
  18. What is with this umpire?
  19. They certainly discussed the possibility. I think everyone believes in him, we just don't have the luxury to deal with a bunch of stinkers down the stretch.
  20. I had to turn my phone upside down lol, no worries.
  21. OK now you screwed me up. Isn't that her right hand?
  22. I don't like using 10W30 in winter or 5W30 in summer, it's bad for your engine. I change spring and fall no matter how much I drive (never more than 10,000)
