Starting with the Houston series, I haven't seen the Blue Jays play this poorly for a number of years. They should be ashamed of themselves and hold a team meeting to sort things out. This level of play is not acceptable and someone has to be held accountable.
Drew Smyly is 2-2 with a 2.65 ERA in 8 appearances vs. the Blue Jays.
Standout performers include JD at 8-18 with 3 bombs and 3 doubles and Saunders at 3-8 with a bomb and 2 doubles.
Heh, this is great too.
I hated the red sox so, so much then. Funny that Marlon Byrd was actually as good as Crawford. I remember arguing about that for an entire offseason.
Baseball fans, including me, don't notice the bad decisions as much for other teams because we don't know their rosters and recent performance as well.
I don't know how anyone could look good with a staff as awful as Boston's. There have been more than a few guys on their roster that don't belong in the big leagues and the farm (pitching wise) is total crap.
Fans of every single team say that about their manager, while also being completely ignorant of so many things.
These include injuries, player confidence, influence from players and management, advanced statistics that aren't public, and more.
Baseball America just had him as the third best manager, so that shows you how variable these rankings can be.
There are problems with Gibbons, but he keeps the team happy and on an even keel while being an average tactician. I'm satisfied with that.
