  1. I strongly disagree that Rios, Perdomo, and Pentecost are on the same level as our consensus top prospects.
  2. SRF, Alford, and Greene were all ranked in BA's updated top 100 prospects in the league. It's fair to say that the same evaluators would reflect that opinion in a team list.
  3. BA has him 3rd (and basically in a tie for first).
  4. Yes, I forgot that no milb games are televised in BJMB fantasy land. I probably worded my statement incorrectly, but it's still an absurd ranking when compared to expert opinions and the Jays handling of him, even if it's just for your last statement.
  5. It's worth noting that Alford's strikeouts were in check in 2015 at 19% and were at the same level in July of 2016. This is about whether or not you believe the injury is a blip on the radar. It has nothing to do with some philosophy on strikeouts.
  6. Neither did Aaron Sanchez. He's just 21 and has good command of his fastball and an exceptional changeup. The curve ball has good bite, but his difficulty commanding it has led to most of his problems this year. If you need another scout heavy opinion, BA just ranked him a top 100 prospect in baseball.
  7. Leaving the merits of my approach aside, you guys should know by now that I'm far from a stats scout. I like to watch the guys and put my own input into the rankings because I enjoy it, even if I'm not right as often. I like Greene's athleticism and repeatable delivery. He's got great control and the walks are a result of him nibbling. His recent promotion gives me faith that the Jays brass sees the same thing and want to challenge him at age 21 in AAA.
  8. Harris at 11 and Greene at 12 are completely baffling and miles away from what stats and scouting reports would suggest. Alford behind Urena is also confusing given the former's resurgence since becoming healthy.
  9. My updated top 10 Jays prospects: 1. Sean Reid-Foley 2. Anthony Alford 3. Jon Harris 4. Conner Greene 5. Richard Urena 6. Harold Ramirez 7. Rowdy Tellez 8. Reese McGuire 9. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 10. T.J. Zeuch I had a very difficult time ranking prospects 3 through 9, as all 7 of them have a case for being top 150 prospects in baseball and perhaps even low top 100 in some instances. Harold Ramirez looks like an extremely talented hitter and I may rank him higher in the future, but I need more time to get a feel for his fielding and speed, as well as his power potential. Complementing the hit tool with some power would give him the potential of an above average regular. As for Reese McGuire, I need to see more from his bat before moving him up on the list. Fortunately, he's young enough and has enough bat speed to do just that. His receiving skills may indeed be elite (and I gave it weight in the rankings), but experience has taught me to be skeptical of those reports until we have some major league data. That's certainly not a criticism, just healthy skepticism of often unreliable reports.
  10. That deal was rather inconsequential for the Padres.
  11. I'm feeling a Marlins fire sale after they miss the playoffs. Yelich would be a nice fit in LF.
  12. Dickey, Thole, and the rights to Todd.
  13. I hate autocorrect. You think it would pick up on stuff after you type it 1000 times.
  14. Bautista: I've been hearing trade rumours, Ross. Atkins: Teams want all of our good players, but we said no. Bautista: I see... I will be very disruptive now.
  15. That was Ricky Romero. We took Russ immediately before Cole Hamels and Nick Swisher lol.
  16. What? There's nothing wrong with Thole's defense.
  17. Erik Kratz, taken in the 29th round of the 2002 draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. Our manager that season was Buck Martinez and led by our brand new GM, J.P. Ricciardi, we took Russ Adams in the first round. Second overall in that draft was a young man named B.J. Upton.
  18. It's time to send Max Pentecost to Dunedin.
  19. There would be a robust market for him, but I'm not sure it would be the smartest thing to do given our SP depth. It's best to keep an even keel and realize that he helps this team win.
  20. Perhaps not, but it's a realistic scenario that he will be the best player for the rest of the season. That's why you have to keep him.
  21. Bautista (2pts)- Donaldson (2pts)- Spanky99 Edwin (2pts)- baseballsss, O2cui2i, johnhavok Tulo (2pts)- Saunders (2pts)- Martin (5pts)- Smoak (5pts)- Pillar (7pts)- Pendleton Upton Jr. (4pts)- LTBF, Jonn Thole (10pts)- Grant77 Carrera (10pts)- Barney(10pts)- Travis (7pts)- Bench (10pts)- Pitcher (20pts)- One of these days Thole will hit a HR when I pick him and it will be hilarious.
  22. Good chance that HR streak continues with Dickey. Hopefully he limits them to solo shots and Upton has a big game.
  23. Best walk off homer call: http://mocksession.com/2011/05/video-corey-patterson-walkoff-homer-in-the-14th-and-hawk-harrelson-refuses-to-call-it/
