    The Indians have been making great pitches and playing solid D in my opinion. Nothing unexpected from Boston thusfar.

    It means they rely on him to provide a lot of offense. Our hitting in 2015 was better than theirs this year, things change quickly. Anyone betting on a BABIP fueled repeat is going to be losing a lot of money, that's just common sense.

    Pitching and defense, it's not just a cliche. Boston will always be dominated by their opponent in that respect in this postseason.

    Cleveland is obviously the tougher team to play, no doubt about that. Pitching and defense play up in the playoffs and Cleveland has the advantage in spades. That being said, f*** Boston.

    I don't recall saying that Eckersley is anti-Jays, or even commenting on him all. The fact that the replay system is extremely flawed and makes obvious mistakes isn't a conspiracy theory. It's a fact with irrefutable evidence. If you have evidence to suggest otherwise then let's see it or take back your asinine comment. I don't mind criticism, but making up s*** off the top of your head and spreading it is f***ing childish.

    You're getting an early preview of Boston's 2017 offense without Ortiz. They are incredibly reliant on him.

    Cleveland has far better pitching and defense, which was abundantly clear before the series started. It may be a cliche, but scoring goes way down in the playoffs. We saw it last year with the Jays. I don't see how anyone could find this shocking. It was expected in my books.

    The Jays camera obviously did. I get that you guys may not have had the best angles, but when I pause it and see his foot on the base and the ball isn't in the glove, how can you expect any other conclusion? There isn't any question Spanky. He was safe, period. If you want to call me an outright liar after years of being honest with you then you can go f*** yourself. You don't deserve any further respect from me if that's your stance.

    Let's not lose sight of the fact that one of the 30 best replay rooms in the world also saw the definitive evidence that Pillar was safe. If this was on Sportsnet and they had paused it at the critical moment, you wouldn't be making such an uninformed statement. You've shown that you think you are superior to everyone, but I'm perfectly capable of seeing his foot on the base and the ball not in the glove on a paused screen even with the hindsight that it meant f*** all.

    Thank you for the thoughtful post. I agree. The explanation message is a fantastic idea. At least you could figure out what they are thinking on like Pillar that defies explanation from TV only. Sometimes it's so obvious that you figure there must be something you're missing.

    I find it hard to believe that MLB couldn't make more money by contracting the Canadian broadcast rights to Sportsnet.

    Our definition of rare obviously differs significantly, but arguing semantics never led anywhere productive. The point remains that umpire calls shouldn't have any relevance in instances where there is a definitive camera angle. If the correct call is made on the field for the Pillar play, does anyone think they overturn it? If the answer is no, then there is no point to the replay at all. We're just ignoring the extra information and reverting back to the original call that isn't humanly possible to make with any certainty. Make the correct call in those instances, period. The umpires should only be used on a tag play without a definitive angle.

    I'm not seeing a personal attack other than a hypothetical statement that may or may not apply to you. There is no discussion to be had on the Pillar play. Hr's conclusively safe, period. There is a discussion to be had about replay and how it can be improved. Umpires can't differentiate split second calls like that so why are their calls given such extreme weight? It doesn't make the game any fairer. It serves as a tool to justify their incorrect calls and possibly more.

    I don't see any evidence that he hit the foot. New York may have one, so this would be less egregious than the Pillar mistake.

    That's horseshit. The incorrect call is upheld on a regular basis. A correct call is not overturned 99.9% of the time perhaps.
