  1. I think we'd have a better chance of beating the Cubs. The Giants playoff track record is legit.
  2. Far more nervous than Boston. The Indians have better pitching and they don't boot the ball on defense. Even if we pitch well, they are still going to be tough games.
  3. http://ih1.redbubble.net/image.7909104.7213/fc,220x200,white.jpg
  4. I'd like to point out that the Jewish lobby is more effective because they have more money. Your comment could be misconstrued as saying that they care or fight more, which isn't true. I know that isn't what you meant.
  5. I can only speak for my area, but I'd say 'Native' is used 90% of the time in casual conversation. I also hear 'Brown' or 'Nish' (Anishnaabe) a fair bit. Calling one of them an Indian would raise a few eyebrows, mostly because nobody ever says it.
  6. I'm curious if this is just one or two people or something? 'Indian' is an American term and Canadians rarely use it. Half of my high school was Native (as are many of my friends) and I have consulted with First Nations as a part of my job. While it isn't exactly offensive to most people, none of them call themselves Indians.
  7. I blow a gasket every time I go to a big city and see $20 parking. I didn't even know there was such a thing as paid parking until I went to see a Jays game when I was 14, as we don't have any here.
  8. Everyone has their own perspective, that's cool with me. I've got fishing, hunting, skiing, mountain climbing/biking, hiking, etc. right next to my house and after growing up that way I'd have a lot of difficulty giving it up. I rarely run into other people so it's almost like a private country sized outdoor playground for my friends and family. I do enjoy going to big cities and seeing the amenities that they have to offer as well. The appeal is perfectly understandable. You've also turned down money to live where you want. I think baseball players do it more often than people suspect. They are just like us in a lot of ways.
  9. That's just my point though. It's an outdoorsman's paradise, but not much else. That is perfect for me, but everyone has their priorities.
  10. I don't get the people who are generalizing players like Lucroy and thinking they know what is important to him. Baseball players are just people and have priorities like the rest of us. They are all different. I've personally turned down money to move to Southern Ontario and to various jobs that I don't like. I don't give a f*** about taxes and I want to live in a nice city with a stress free job. There's no reason to think some baseball players wouldn't have the same priorities.
  11. I'm expecting Conner Greene to have a big AFL. The Jays brass were very excited about the progress he made near the end of the season and I'm sure he is there so they can see him build on it.
  12. Pinch hit Navarro for Martin!
  13. Possibly, but we got to him on numerous occasions with the Yankees so we should have some confidence if nothing else.
  14. With a presumably hoy Jays offense and home field advantage, I'd say considerably higher.
  15. Gotta love seeing the steaming piles of s*** that are Boston's players and fans going home in abject sorrow.
  16. Melvin Upton Jr. could be a big weapon off of the bench against Andrew Miller. He's 5-12 with 3 jacks for his career. Bautista, Encarnacion, Martin, and Pillar have also had a lot of success vs. Miller. He's still an elite pitcher that may very well shut us down, but the Jays have certainly been his kryptonite.
  17. I applaud the coordination that you guys put into your trolling. Jon ruined it a bit though.
  18. He's got enough clutch in the bank to make up for a dozen series like this. A fantastic career and I respect him a lot, but not his teammates or fans.
  19. Indians prove for the umpteenth time that a team like Boston can be beaten by good pitching and D.
  20. Would be poetic justice to see the biggest piece of s*** in the league lose it for Boston.
  21. Two! Allen gets the soft underbelly of their lineup, better take advantage and not walk Leon.
  22. Is there any doubt that Bautista or Donaldson would be gone?
  23. Good chance that is the last time we ever see Ortiz on the field. Great career.
