  1. I think he would cost a king's ransom considering he's a year removed from a serious run at MVP. I'm mostly interested in trading for a reasonably good corner OF (2-3 WAR) that we can control without giving up huge prospect haul. Easier said that done, but it would free us up to bring back a big bat and still have some payroll to tinker with bullpen.
  2. We're not buying it. How much candy did you get kiddo?
  3. That's my take on it as well, but there are always those people. I think they would feel bad if they knew the tall kids were 12 or whatever, but you can't prove it.
  4. Error M.FACEBOOK.COM See posts, photos and more on Facebook. Mystery solved?
  5. Tell me about it. I was freakishly tall at that age and was devastated one year when a bunch of people said I was too old and gave no candy.
  6. It's hard to say what direction the Diamondbacks will go with their new front office. You would think that an advanced pitching prospect like Greene or Harris would get them talking about Peralta. I think the Padres would be willing to consider more long term, high risk prospects.
  7. I'd always get a few tricks, but they would usually give you candy after anyways. With the lawsuit culture out there I can't blame people for being hesitant to scare or trick kids now.
  8. I can't top jays4life's offer. I think that's a reasonable bet for you.
  9. I think we have a shot at getting him if we want because I doubt any team will want to count on him as more than a backup. If I'm the Dodgers I keep him though.
  10. While we're on the topic of NL West trade targets, how much would David Peralta cost? He's 29 and coming off an injury riddled season and the D-Backs may prefer to give Mitch Haniger or Chris Owings a shot in LF. Alex Dickerson is also an intriguing option if the Padres don't put a huge price tag on him.
  11. I'd take him on my bench in a second if I were a team in the senior circuit. His LH bat, speed, and bunting ability makes for an ideal 5th OF.
  12. Pat Neshek (6.5 mil), Fernando Rodney (4.5 mil), and Carlos Ruiz (4.5 mil) are available for a bag of balls via trade according to MLBTR. Rodney is too much of an enigma for my taste, but the other two could be good fits. I don't mind paying a bit more for a quality reliever or veteran backstop if it's a one year deal.
  13. I don't think Zeke even had options this year. 2017 will be his 7th season in the majors.
  14. Are you confident enough in that to make a wager? I'd love to get some of King's allowance.
  15. Cots has about 114 using MLBTR's projections for Stroman, Loup, and Barney. Where are your numbers from?
  16. Keep in mind that payroll is about 105 million if I remember correctly. Lots of money came off the books. That's about 40 million to spend on 2-3 bats and some relievers.
  17. He didn't throw out a specific number, but he said we'd be comfortably in the 5-10 range for payroll. That means we should have at least 40 million to spend if you take it at face value.
  18. If Shapiro was bring honest about payroll, we should have plenty to spend, especially on short term deals.
  19. It hasn't exactly cost the Cubs. They have played more home games so far.
  20. I think that awards may have an influence in arbitration. That's not a crazy thought.
  21. Certainly. After taking a quick look at the leaderboards, I'd be interested in Derek Norris, Jed Lowrie, and Ben Revere on inexpensive deals.
  22. Anyone is a good sign at the right price.
  23. If calling people out for ignorant comments is synonymous with my name then I'm cool with that. You explain the Alford situation very well. It's hard to believe he only has 900 at-bats. He's advanced a long way in a short time.
