  1. It's heavily skewed towards old teams as well, as the top 10 have all been around since at least 1901. The Jays are the best team from 1997 on by a significant margin. Our poor expansion cousins are several hundred games under and are the only team to never make a World Series.
  2. To no one's surprise, I want to face Boston in the playoffs. I think they are, by far, the weakest team in playoff contention. Having them knock out a better team like Houston and then come into Toronto with a tired pitching staff would be a dream for us.
  3. If I was a betting man, I would place a bet on there being at least a small celebration. Making the playoffs in a season in which no one (including myself) believed in them is a huge accomplishment.
  4. A win today would put the Jays all time record over .500 for the first time in a while.
  5. Hand fractures are awful for hitters. I remember something like that essentially derailing Eric Hinske's Blue Jays career. If we're discounting Bo for this current injury then I would think the same applies to Tucker, who is at least equally as injury prone. I just can't see him getting a contract that exceeds 500 million.
  6. Tucker has completely disappeared since the calendar turned to July. Recently, he was below a 100 wRC+ during that stretch. I'd be very hesitant to invest kind of money in him and would definitely rather have Bo for half of the price, Outside of Tucker's monster 2024, they have been comparable hitters, while Bo plays a harder position and is younger.
  7. That's boring! Let's go down 5-0 by the third and mount an epic comeback, while the Yankees do the opposite.
  8. I just read that the Yankees were an insane 125-45 against the Twins before last night's game. That makes the loss even more hilarious.
  9. You have to at least talk about Bassitt if the start is at home.
  10. It's also the highest whiff rate by any Blue Jays starter ever (min 60 pitches). That will play in the bullpen in the playoffs.
  11. Braydon Fisher is 7-0 now. That reminds me of when I was a kid and Paul Quantrill had 11 wins. I had gotten his autograph a few years earlier and thought he was the best pitcher ever.
  12. Sportsnet says so, ahead of Strasburg.
  13. I was watching the highlights and saw something interesting on the play when Brandon Lowe was thrown out on that great play by Gimenez. He throws his helmet on the ground What is on his head? Is it one of those silicone bald caps or does he have a condom on his head or what? You can see his hair underneath it and the line across his forehead. Weird.
  14. Springer with a big hit after Kirk and Clement kind of screwed us with some poor hitting and baserunning. Fisher was fantastic in 2 innings with a Manfred Man on 2nd, easy MVP of the game. That's your recap.
  15. Love these Yankees highlights. I guess Jazz Chisholm is too busy stepping on necks to play defense or hit.
  16. That's a 5 game lead with a tiebreak, fellas.
  17. Jazz Chisholm grounds out. One more for a Yankees loss.
  18. Stanton strikes out to start the 9th against Twins reliever Pierson Ohl. Two more outs to go.
  19. Fisher is the MVP of this game if he somehow gets out of this.
