  1. Is there a source that can verify this claim or are you just blowing hot steam again?
  2. "Knowing what we know now, I wouldn’t make the trade again. But I also wouldn’t give up the idea of two years of what should have — could have — been some incredibly exciting times at the ballpark. It’s just a shame it didn’t work out." What should have been? Shame it didn't work out? This clown can pretend that those teams were on the cusp of greatness all he wants, but the last two years have proven that they were far from it and overpaying for Dickey was a total miscalculation. JPA was the primary catcher of that team FFS... What should have been??? Lol GFY Stoeten.
  3. Lmao
  4. http://replygif.net/i/1485.gif
  5. Take what away? Injuries to guys like Reyes and Saunders (who are always injured) and poor performances from unproven rookies who the team shouldn't have relied on in the first place? And you're actually using that to prove how depth isn't a problem?? Lol.. clown post bro.
  6. You can also tell which members would blow Wilner at the first chance... http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4298-Blue-Jays-asked-on-Papelbon?p=504488&viewfull=1#post504488
  7. Not quite but the harder he tried, the dumber he looked.
  8. Gruber ITT http://i.imgur.com/4P5xV.gif
  9. I'm really really sorry Gruber, but your boytoy still chews gum like a hobo and runs around like a f***ing ballerina!
  10. The Royals had an elite BP and they had everything go their way during an extremely unlikely hot streak that saw them win 8 straight playoff games and they still couldn't win it all because of their inferior starting pitching vs The Giants. Great example by the way, almost as good as the "Cards GM and the Dodgers GM" comp.
  11. Why the f*** would I craft you a list when you've already admitted that they belong in the middle of the pack?? The point clearly flew over your head... Playoff games are generally tight and low scoring and this team will be behind the eight ball every time they go up against an elite pitcher.
  12. Possibly. I actually think this team still has a decent chance at the playoffs with the offense carrying them most of the way. The problem however with the way this team's built is that they're not able to put up many runs once they're going up against the other teams best pitchers like David Price and the pitching won't be able to keep us in those close games. So even if they somehow manage to make it into the playoffs, they're still nothing but pretenders with a rotation like that.
  13. LMAO So now we're comparing the Cards and the Dodgers GM's to a guy who hasn't been able to assemble a competitive roster in 6 years??? GTFO Trust me, you wouldn't. The fact is that there are plenty of team with better rotations than that. Stroman is the only star in that rotation and he's far from a proven front-line starter considering the 130 total MLB innings under his belt. Besides, Alex told us that his goal was not just to contend, but put together a team "that can get to the World Series and win it, and then sustain it year-in and year-out"... Does that look like a rotation that's going to win any championships to you???
  14. What? "100% probability he doesn't contribute"? Talk about creating a false dichotomy in order to prove a point. But he was quite comfortable getting bent over by the Mets in an attempt to acquire an ace despite having just landed Johnson (who he also thought to an ace). Besides, what's the point of speculating? The guy hasn't assembled a complete roster since he's been here and this year was no exception. Maybe there is a perfectly justifiable explanation as to why he has failed every year or maybe he's just not fit for the job. Smh So the Ismil Rogers trade took place because no other terrible relievers wanted to sign here??? But can I criticize him for not being able to put together a team that's been realistically projected to win more than 85 games three years after declaring the team is going all-in?? Or should I follow along with the speculation and excuses?!?!
  15. But that assessment was shortsighted even at the time. Considering the lack of upside from the other starters (although it's somewhat debatable with Hutch) this team really needed another frontline starter to be legitimately considered as contenders. It's the same story every year... Relying on everything to go smoothly in order to succeed and every year something miraculously goes wrong and we're left with a bunch of excuses.
  16. I don't think anyone in their right mind can deny this. What I don't understand is why you'd even bring this up? Of course the team would be better with their best starter than without him. The problem here is that this team was overly reliant on a 23 year old who has thrown a total of 130 major league innings. I know the kid has plenty of upside and his injury was a bit of a fluke, but durability is kinda important for a frontline starter and there is no guarantee that he would have been the horse that this team needed. To go into the season with him being essentially your only frontline starter was a huge mistake for a team that is supposadly trying to contend.
  17. You're right. The Pillar quote was made by AA... I confused the two stooges for a second.
  18. Pillar = one of the best outfielders in the league Navarro = best pure hitter on the team Castro = lockdown closer who is easily capable of recording 4 out saves every time he's out there I clearly underestimated this team...
  19. He thinks Pillar is "one of the best outfielders in the game" and he wants to maximize his value... Smh
  20. lol AA is a wild man, he doesn't have time for "contingency plans".
  21. As a Jays fan who has long given up on this FO, I have to say that losing to the Rays has become somewhat satisfying. I even had some money on the Jays last night but still didn't mind seeing the Rays expose this team for the pretenders that they are. The last thing I personally want is to see is this team barely sneaking into the playoffs and then making a quick exit which would probably lead to the chubby Greek sticking around for another 5 years...
