There’s also no more “stupid old school” organizations like there was before. Some are different than others but there’s Ivy leaguers and guys running advanced stats at all of them. The market is the market. Team internal projections are clearly like nothing you’re reading on Fangraphs, so it’s better not to trash someone’s opinion because FG says so

Well, I’ll just chime in again since you guys just can’t help trashing anyone with an opinion other than your “right one”. How much does a 4-5 WAR OF like Bryce Harper and command and how much would Varsho command? Are professional sports people not as smart as all you guys that use Fangraphs as your Bible. Are they stupid and just giving away $300m for nothing lol. Batting average is a lot more valuable than you think it is. Go do some studies on FA contracts and get back to us

I’m nothing if not a man of self-reflection. If Spanky- King of the 4 Memes- tells me that I need to have more substance in my posts, perhaps I need to work on that. I do appreciate your constructive criticism. I’m sure your rapid deterioration from normal person to elderly cripple has heightened your wisdom and sensitivities, and so it’s good sometimes to see things from another lens sometimes. My posts objectively have more substance to them than yours, as a whole. I didn’t necessarily disagree with everything BTS said, but I named off the main guys he was referring to and factually pointed out most have not been the optimal outcome hoped for with offense. Except IKF. Can’t have expected anything more for him with the bat. That’s not saying a ton but it’s a revelation if you will, for now. I expect him to crash down soon enough though

Vlad is Vlad. He’s at least been last year. Springer’s rapid decline started last year, Kirk fell off a cliff last year too. They crossed their fingers it was just a fluke. They are professionals and saw these guys day in and day out. You can’t can’t claim any shockers. Other than Bo, who will start hitting at some point like he’s a star, to end up high 700’s OPS. He’s a 120 wRC+ guy with what should be an illegal few point bump for Roger’s Center. The supporting cast is not as good as you think it is. It’s just a recipe for maybe a .500 team if the others guys were doing a little better

Oof. In looking it seems that jump to A+ in 2021 where he struck out 30% of the time in 300abs and looked underwhelming made him seem expendable.

The truth is Varsho is valuable for what he is. But the hope he was something more than he is and what you guys hoped, doesn’t look good. Schneider looks like a passable player Turner may die before year end I promise you IKF is at his peak Janssen has proved again he’s just a tease

I mean, are things true because you’re confident about it? I’m going to do you a favor and throw about KK as he’s definitely gone soon. By secondary offense, you mean Schneider, Turner, IKF, Janssen, Varsho. They hodgepodge to like a .720 OPS with a high of .730. I’m not sure if that classifies as very, very good and if I told you preseason none of those guys would have an OPS higher than .730, you would’ve called me a blatant troll

Yeah I’m not surprised Kirk didn’t develop into a good player but didn’t think he was plain terrible. Jansen will go on his runs like Biggio used to and give some guys the feeling there’s untapped star there, but then he’ll get hurt and go through 1-30s and just level out to what he is. Better the save the $10m he would’ve been each year

Even Spanky and Max checked out. They just went longer the most. It’s a train wreck. They can’t really fire the manager as the scapegoat again. I’m surprised some coaches don’t get the can though. Not bc it’s their fault, but there has to be some organizational accountability. They certainly aren’t helping s***, so doesn’t hurt. Not like you can cut Springers check. Have to show some balls somehow.
