    The unscientific nature of the whole think is prettt hilarious. Like I’m sure you could see some guys drafting in fantasy leagues may outperform many GMs and their billion dollar companies, with guys with 30years of field experience. It’s kind of like horse racing handicapping, good to know the basics and after that, digest as much data as you want, some 7yo picking horses by colors will beat you

    This Jays season is basically mirroring your board teams I’d assume. Mostly a pile of s***, no future, but then you’ll pull out the odd winning week and break out this dance

    They can keep him even if someone claims him. They don’t have to worry about that though, as nobody will claim him.

    Especially if Bo is out from gettin moved, Atkins maybe be hoping they have a strong Aug/Sep and that’s the best path to keeping his job, over getting underwhelming prospects for the expiring contracts. I don’t see much selling. Little motivation to do so. Easy to manipulate the team too, just by saying “do we really want to turn the fans off for the sake of some guys that will likely never be anything”

    I feel it’s relevant to note that some are saying Brody Brecht’s fastball is on par with Skenes. He just needs to harness his stuff. Could very well be on the board for the Jays with their first pick

    This is really the “change of scenery” factor. Statheads like Laila aren’t going to be the guys to have an opinion on that. I don’t think a player like Bo is necessarily going to tank, as with less than 1.5 years to go until FA, this downturn is having a pretty big impact on a 10 year deal I’d think. But it could just be the human factor of a player not happy with his situation and it bleeds over into performance, even if that’s not intentional.

    There was that time of glory with Acuna, Tatis, and Soto hitting the ground running. Gunnar now I guess. But most of the #1 overall type guys have been up and down.

    Jays quite clearly whiffed on their assessment of Varsho. Either A) They thought there was upside where he was a legit Corner OF bat He is what they thought. And their idea of next level was KK in CF and great D in the Corner. Bad move either way

    I think Correa kind of took a hit in everyone’s mind when he essentially got exposed as having a degenerative condition. Like a Matt Kemp, or more recently Mike Trout. Obvious he was still be able to get a contract in the end, but stigma is kind of there. I will say, now that Bo doesn’t steal, he’s basically way overrated in obp leagues. Dynasty rankings are based on 5x5 but with obp he sinks obviously
