  1. Holy I woke up the Santander Fan Club last night by saying I don’t want Cody Bellinger
  2. I want no part of Bellinger. You are assuming all the risk for a guy who will probably never have another season as good as last year Cant make a dumb move because you missed out on Bo and Tucker. I think most would agree Santander felt like a dumb move last year, sort of a desperation one. This would feel the same except Bellinger could really burn you
  3. People’s opinions A lot of people are making good points and explaining how they feel and there is a lot of differing view points. Some think Barger and co are a top 5 offense still, others are skeptical I prefer a board that has people active and posting, as opposed to 12 guys just gargling $/WAR calculations from steamer projections
  4. I don’t think they’re bringing in another bat to crowd an already crowded situation the two exceptions were Kyle Tucker and Bo
  5. I actually assumed 10/350 would get him and that with some deferred cash it might be like 32M a year With all the talk about how his market had dried up, nobody wanted to pay him, contract might start with a 2 (lol) blah blah blah it sure shows that nobody in media actually has a clue
  6. There’s no question fans are going to be siding with the owners this time around. They are understandably tired of watching every marquee free agent wind up in LA who are clearly treating the luxury tax as an expense and not a deterrent I’ve wondered how players actually feel about this and saw Passan said this tonight No s*** some of them feel like that. Anthony Rendon is an anomaly - most guys want to win. Like really want to win. I can’t imagine being guys in San Diego or Philly and seeing Queen Tuck wind up in LA. A lot of eye rolls I’m sure
  7. Ya but that’s not predictive so I’m not worried about that. So many variables
  8. would be nice if Okamoto comes over and balls out Add a big corner outfield bat in July Just need one more guy who can mash at some point
  9. Pretty sure he had like 3 tanks in the first couple weeks too lol
  10. Right which is ironic because the sentiment in baseball media is that if you don’t like 60M AAV for 4 win Kyle Tucker you’re simping for the billionaire owners
  11. This is what happens when the union reps are the same guys with nine figure contracts Max, Lindor, Semien off the top of my head While these huge AAV short term deals are great for elite free agents it feels like lower end players will have their contracts suppressed
  12. Happy I don’t have to wonder what happened to his chin for the next decade
  13. If my aunt had a dick she’d be my uncle It was clearly never going to happen lol. Do you think people would be saying the Pirates are bad for baseball if they had signed Tucker and Bo this offseason as well? Probably not. Why? well because they aren’t the ones who have only 1/3 of their TV revenue taxed which puts more money in the pockets of the multi billion asset management ownership Then there is the argument that just ANYONE can just do the same thing. Nobody is choosing Cincinnati or Cleveland over the Dodgers without a 10-20% tax
  14. You’re missing the forrest through the trees The argument that any other team can or will or should act like the Dodgers is pure lunacy. There are maybe two other teams who in theory could operate the same way. That leaves 27 other teams competing with one hand tied behind their back
  15. I am the wrong guy to ask. I doubt a salary cap is coming but if it did I would imagine teams would be granted maybe two seasons to adjust their roster
  16. Someone will probably crunch the numbers but Tucker is gonna cost almost 100M/year
  17. Why not one more for the LAids Dodgers
  18. Next we will see some retàrded org like the Angels or Padres gobbling up Teoscar and give the Dodgers a top 100 prospect
  19. Solution is simple Don’t care what the present day value is the AAV for luxury tax accounting is dollars divided by years. Defer as much as you’d like
  20. Sick I can’t wait to see the dodgers with a billion in annual salary commitments while the Rockies and Rays run 70M payrolls
  21. Yes the same guy who said Ohtani to the Jays No I don’t care
  22. Don’t get your panties in a knot that it isn’t Jeff Passan I’m posting
  23. I felt pretty confident in Tucker. That confidence is now waning…
  24. I know it sounds crazy to sit here and be like we need to add to the top as they do sit with the highest projections in the AL My view is CBA expiring, like 70M off the books next year, one outfielder under contract beyond this year, riding the 2025 high… the time is now. They’ve gone 90% of the way just finish this bitcħ off Granted you’re right, team is deep and it’s hard to add anywhere if the player isn’t like a 4 win guy.
