  1. I knew I had seen this but had to search for it. This is from January 10th so before this extension took place
  2. Holy truck does the board have capabilities to hide posts from Brownie and JB when they quote each other arguing like brother and sister
  3. Was Yu Darvish our first collective letdown as a group? Pretty sure that was the old board days too. He was going to be a Blue Jay we all could feel it
  4. He just secured like 100M more for no reason. If anything it looks like an act of good faith by the org for paying him below market his entire career
  5. Am I the only one who isn’t worried about CF beyond this season?
  6. He really isn’t hanging on by a thread though, there is nobody to challenge his job. That’s my point I hope vs lefties we see Ernie shift to SS and DS at second. That might be the best configuration the Jays have
  7. Obviously you’re not rostering all those players in the playoffs, that’s what’s known as a depth chart And yes defense is ultimately much more random in short bursts like a playoff series. You could play a seven game series and have zero opportunities to make a play considered a game changer. But you have to hit once every nine times and if all your warz come from being elite defensively and a noodle with the bat your opportunity to impact the game decreases significantly
  8. They weren’t what was needed, they both balled out for 5 weeks. I’m going to take the under on that happening again Ernie I feel pretty confident in and he can impact a playoff game because of his knack for squaring balls up. Gimenez is looking more and more like Andrelton Simmons
  9. Nope I don’t want to see those guys playing either. A bat first 2B with Ernie moving to best fifth infielder in the league would be ideal
  10. Furthermore, both of your starting SS and 2B are going to be hampered by splits no matter who is on the bump Ernie crushes lefties, below average vs righties Gimenez obviously will struggle against lefties, hope that he can be average ish vs righties Hopefully the Dbacks are ass and end up moving Marte. That is the cleanest fit for this roster
  11. The biggest problem for me is the middle infield depth chart is full of guys who could have the bat knocked right out of their hands Gimenez Ernie Jimenez Kasevich Over 162 using these guys to gather WAR is fine and their defensive abilities have a bigger impact over an entire season. But in a 5 or 7 game series those skills aren’t as meaningful. At least they don’t strike out but I want a player who can be a difference maker not a floor raiser at some point
  12. Whit must’ve had a big fantasy football matchup lol
  13. Bo has always given off the vibe that he is an individual first and foremost, dating back to his draft in 16 when he told teams he would not change his swing The guy who is quiet and does his own thing, the type of guy who doesn’t really latch on to one of the groups in the clubby. None of this is inherently bad and more acceptable the higher end player you are Him leaving doesn’t sting the way it would if Vlad left or even when EE left. Those guys are Blue Jays through and through.
  14. Would be hilarious
  15. Belli won’t be a Met
  16. Jim we were once the Belli Boys when nobody wanted him Since then he’s had seasons of 4.4, 2.1 and 4.9 WAR on a 3/80 contract Now we’re looking at 3/120 or 5/160 with a 2.5 WAR projection Now the Belli Boys exercising caution. Lesson in there
  17. Awww is little red upset that somebody said something mean to him
  18. The fit is still weird and it’s a one dimensional guy but hopefully he pops 40 bombs
