  1. Obviously the throw was s*** but I don't mind Navarro being aggressive with the back pick. That's the type of play that keeps secondaries in check, can be the difference between going first to third or not on a single.
  2. Jays pen is fine. It's actually really good. The beauty of all this, is the Jays still control their own destiny! Over reacting to every single loss for the next month isn't the greatest idea.
  3. Did you think the Yankees would just roll over and give the Jays the division? You do realize that they want to win too, right?
  4. David Price is great, that is obvious. But by allocating some of the risk David Price @30M AAV over 7 years into a couple of FA starters at less money on shorter contracts you likely make yourself better in the short term, and the long term. You add quality arms to the starting rotation and create some depth that is more definitely going to be needed in 2016. The same people who are calling for a Price signing will be the same ones calling for Rogers' head if we do, and in turn can't afford to sign or extend Donaldson. Becoming short sighted and focusing on next year alone hardly ever works out without some type of repercussions.
  5. And if the Jays are in first place again come September 2016 they will have forgotten. I should've said 99.9%
  6. David Price will most certainly get Cy Young votes.
  7. Spending money does not have a direct impact on winning. I don't know why people are so eager to see this "large" payroll boost from Rogers. Spending $200M on David Price is very unlikely to be the move that propels the Jays into perennial contention. It also is unlikely that it's the best way to spend $30M next season alone. Three months of success at the gates does not equate to a perpetual top 5 payroll. The goal should be to build an organization that competes year in and year out. All this ******** talk about "how we haven't won in two decades so might as well blow the wad now" is complete garbage. Not to mention, a good chunk of the money coming off the books this year is going to evaporate through arb and salary increases. Nobody is going to care or stop coming to games next year if David Price is gone and the Jays are still playoff contenders. This is a very plausible scenario, especially with the addition of a couple good FA signings. People will stop coming to the games however if the Jays become the Phillies. That being said, the addition of Shapiro makes me as confident in the direction of this team as I've ever been.
  8. Thanks for breaking down the trade Jeff Blair
  9. You're such a tattle tale.
  10. Denim Dan
  11. Great attitude. You were the kid who got picked last in gym class every single time.
  12. Sure they can, but they apparently don't seem interested going that route. I understand why he moved him, and it's unfortunate he is forced to work within those parameters. I find it really hard to believe another team wouldn't have offered multiple pieces better than what he returned.
  13. Pretty obvious BB wasn't going to be able to afford Donaldson year to year.
  14. Trading Donaldson wasn't the wrong move for Oakland, that part seems pretty widely accepted. The return still blows my mind though. It's almost impossible to believe someone else wouldn't have ponied up a better package than what the Jays gave up.
  15. That's awesome.
  16. Oh okay. All playoff talk will be censored from this point on. Should be easy enough to do around here. We only see what they want us to see!
  17. I can't believe some of you want to play nice and not hurt anyone's feelings by bumping them from the rotation. Holy f*** the Jays have the chance to add a top 25 pitcher to their rotation and some of you are worried about hurting Marco Estrada's feelings? Get outta here.
  18. Kershaw with 50.55 points on DK tonight. Thanks for the 70 bucks Clayton
  19. I agree. The guy is in a tier all his own.
  20. Yup. Kershaw is the Cy in my eyes.
  21. Great game to watch tonight thanks to him. I wanted that complete game for him so badly!
  22. Wow, great outing from Kershaw tonight. Showing why he's the best in the world. 132 pitches, 15k's, 35 swings and misses. Vin Scully routinely updated his viewers on Kershaw's swing and miss count. Pat and Buck would've been talking about Derek Jeter.
