  1. That's exactly the problem. So they give him 130 innings and then what? Having him start the season as the long man seems like the most logical I guess, be the 6th guy on the depth chart. I can't really envision that happening either since Gibby is gonna want his savezzz in the back end of the BP.
  2. The Osuna situation is such a mess. Even if he successfully transitions to starting what happens if the Jays make the playoffs? He'll surely be approaching whatever limit they impose on him. Put him in the pen? If they put him in the pen this year I think that signals that they're married to it. Then you're basically hoping you can get 6 years of above average BP production out of him before he becomes a FA. If you don't, it's a waste of a a good SP prospect. I know we say this all the time- but here is a guy who's value may never be higher. If they don't think he can start maybe he's best used in a trade.
  3. Obviously Alex isn't irreplaceable. To think he is would be foolish. Do I want him back? Yup. He should be afforded the opportunity to finish what he started. Do I think this franchise would collapse if AA departed? Not at all.
  4. Mis leading thread title
  5. Greenwood is killing it. Well said!
  6. Hey don't you put that s*** on me Sask born and bred.
  7. RIP 2016 Blue Jays
  8. Loooool
  9. Is it not possible to watch the game on mlbtv in Canada?? I'm on my phone but can't get it.
  10. Ya that's a much better way to put it
  11. Id prefer him to publicly announce his expectations that Price will price himself out of their range. Better yet, that giving him nearly a quarter of a billion dollars probably isn't a good idea.
  12. How are we determining that Alex is still an AVG/RBI/HR guy? I think it's safe to say he's become a lot more analytic during his tenure. More importantly, I haven't seen or heard anything that would lead me to believe that AA is someone who is difficult to coexist with ala Mike Scioscia.
  13. In regards to Marco and the QO it'll depend on if he thinks he can turn in another year like this. If he doesn't think he can I think the security of a few years and ~30M or so would be appealing. If he's confident in himself taking the QO is a no brainer- putting himself in this position a year from now having proven himself a second time would make buyers a lot less skeptical.
  14. Thankfully the only decision you get to make is what you're having for dinner.
  15. Joe Blanton would be a great candidate to be the Marco Estrada of 2016 actually.
  16. I don't think the Jays would have to outbid LAD for him.
  17. Joe Blanton too
  18. Nick Tropeano
  19. Ideally if AA is let go he finds a job in the Rays org.
  20. When I saw him in TO he was taking ground balls at third with Bautista
  21. Those 80 battle tested innings sure paid off.
  22. Yup forgot about him. Will be the obvious 3B back up.
  23. I had the same thought re: Saunders at 1B. Would eliminate Smoak but not sure how passable the D would be. He's athletic enough that it might not be a huge problem for him. Would allow some nice versatility and flexibility keeping Revere around too. C-Martin 1B-Colabello 2B-Travis SS-Tulo 3B-Donaldson LF-Revere/Saunders CF-Pillar RF-Bautista DH-Edwin 2B/SS-Goins OF-Pompey OF-Revere/Saunders C-Thole? Still need someone to back up at third base though.
  24. Yup, would definitely be in on Happ.
