    All good points. The rule isn’t to reward development of ROY votes it’s to stop teams from holding down prospects. Weird to see how it played out with so many big names this year. Don’t the top 3 qualifiers get some sort of compensation or am I dreaming that up?

    Ian Happ and Adbert Alzolay would both fit. Problem is the two young catchers are too much and two years of Jansen isn’t going to interest them.

    It’s not perfect but it works. J Rod would’ve been kept down to start this year had the rule not been in place. Losing a year on Adley feels like a massive blunder. Might as well get started on that mega extension for him.

    Pretty arbitrary method to qualify but I guess the thought is the Corbin Carroll’s and Adley’s of the world are most likely to be ROY contenders
