    Gurriel sucks and is a FA next year. If he had value they would’ve moved him for Swanson but even at 5M Seattle didn’t prefer him. Moreno’s lack of power is concerning. Young catchers can take a long time to finally figure it out and by then they’re on the edge of free agency. See JT Realmuto Varsho fills the biggest hole on a roster in win now mode for cheap. Way better than trading ++ for Reynolds. This is a nice move for AZ too. They get a young catcher to add to their core of exciting young players. Both teams traded from areas of depth.     Trevor Bauer is a 40M/year pitcher easy in this market. Even more if he goes year to year like he always said he would. Someone will sign him, Molly Knight and Jon Heyman will give their opinion, there will be a slight increase in she/her rage on Twitter and after that it’ll be a non story outside of generating clicks.

    Agreed Jim. Can’t count on Ricky or Zulu as depth to start the season. If they force their way up then you’re in a great spot. If not and you brought in a #5 you’ve at least insulated yourself to some degree.
