  1. In my head it went like this Hey Trevor, we would really like to have you back in 2023. Are you willing to make a public apology and show remorse for what you have done? No. I didn’t do anything illegal and that will basically be me admitting my guilt. PR suicide. Okay, we are going to DFA you.
  2. I’ll be honest I really don’t know much about this situation. I watch some football on Sunday usually but don’t follow the league much at all. But if what you’re saying is correct (and I assume it is) then it’s hard to imagine someone not signing Bauer.
  3. I think your post is pretty much correct. Small percentage of people probably boycott while Bauer is there. Okay see ya later Majority of fans can’t be bothered to care enough to boycott their favourite team. People have way bigger problems of their own than who team X employs and if the MLB says he’s allowed to play then play ball. For sure there will be some teams that signing him isn’t worth the headache for whatever that reason might be. But Uncle Steve and the Houston Astros among others are probably doing their due diligence right now.
  4. Is there an example of a team in any sport bringing in a player hated so badly by the fan base that they ended up regretting it?
  5. Care to provide examples of the impact bad publicity had on these teams in regards to players they brought in? We both know jersey sales are split amongst teams. Does signing Bauer and winning a division mean X number of people have been generated into life long fans? Most have acknowledged the Blue Jays will not touch him. And a few others throughout the league. But there’s a yin to every yang and Bauer isn’t going to be black balled by the entire league because of a small minority of fans. Zero chance.
  6. Impossible to quantify.
  7. Teams sign guys like Shelby Miller or random KBO guys all the time and pay them millions of dollars. Bauer will cost virtually nothing and he can probably provide you with the throwing he’s done every day since his suspension. If he was 36 you might have a point. But you’re worried about him being 32? Nah
  8. Julio Urias still pitches for the team that released Bauer. They really haven't gotten smarter/tougher, it’s just that nobody outside of baseball knows or cares who Urias is.
  9. Everyone knew what you meant. Jim just had to let everyone know of his disdain for Bauer.
  10. The ace debate is a dumb one, always has been. There are only a handful of guys who are true aces, but everyone understands what you mean when you describe an acquisition as a potential ace - a guy who comes in and makes 30 starts with an era in the low threes. Manoah pitched like an ace last year. Bauer has the potential to pitch like an ace this year.
  11. Ya but who knows? It’s possible
  12. Gausman might be a pumpkin in 2023. Who knows
  13. Man that sucks. Good luck to him in his recovery. One of the worst trades in recent memory for the Jays. One year of Jesse Chavez for however many years Hendriks had left.
  14. They very well could’ve told him they wanted him to pitch and then had a change of heart after meeting with him because of his lack of remorse according to the accounts.
  15. Link to Dodgers denial?
  16. Hahaha ya I think that’s what we see happening here
  17. They can’t compute that people don’t actually care about high level wokeness
  18. How’s this poll?
  19. 4.6 ERA projected out of the pen. You can’t be that surprised nobody wants him
  20. I like the guy in the trade to you I proposed
