    I don’t think this is ever a worst contract in baseball deal. I think that’s too extreme of a label Look at Soto. Basically identical projections to Vlad ROS for 15M more per season. Not saying that’s the worst contract either but if it’s not Soto then it really can’t be Vlad The Gimenez contract is fairly gross. Santander is low enough AAV but it’s 4 more years. Kirk is pretty much FA money. But that’s a lot of dough to guys who could all be pretty meh

    Giving Bo a monster deal feels like a kid who gets a s*** ton of birthday money, spends it on the first couple shiny things he sees and then regret sets in when there’s no more cash and the toys get older

    I feel the same way. Great area and probably a top 10 sports city in the country but one of the worst run organizations in all of sports.

    Pretty much feel the same. Money can mask deficiencies But they’ll have to spend and spend a lot. I’d rather be the Phillies than the Rays

    Ya because they have a bunch of 2 WAR guys making 20M. Obviously that’s not ideal but that doesn’t mean that money can’t be redistributed when it’s available and the goal would be to sign better contracts!

    They can afford it and if they wanna play ball with the big boys and spend like a power house then Vlad’s contract isn’t going to be prohibitive unless he turns into Chris Davis
