  1. The question is were you a staunch skeptic of a Joc Pedersen signing after a 150 double you are see plus season or are you actually the 20/20 hindsight captain
  2. Yes they did everything they could. Thank you Ross
  3. I was referring to those contracts in the same way glory was, talking about long term commitments new management could face if this year is a bust. They’re nowhere near worst contract territory Xander Bogaerts is a good example of a contract with big albatross risk, eight more years of 25M/yr
  4. I don’t think this is ever a worst contract in baseball deal. I think that’s too extreme of a label Look at Soto. Basically identical projections to Vlad ROS for 15M more per season. Not saying that’s the worst contract either but if it’s not Soto then it really can’t be Vlad The Gimenez contract is fairly gross. Santander is low enough AAV but it’s 4 more years. Kirk is pretty much FA money. But that’s a lot of dough to guys who could all be pretty meh
  5. Vlad still projects for between 5-6 WAR He has a 145 weighted runs created plus This is not the worst contract in the sport
  6. It was Jackie Robinson Day when Pillar made that unreal catch in left field where he climbed the 9 foot wall
  7. It would be tough to turn down 500M sitting in front of you
  8. Bo’s best seasons came in nearly 700 plate appearances too It’s difficult to see a path to Bo doubling his projections if we are all being honest here
  9. Adames money probably isn’t too bad
  10. Giving Bo a monster deal feels like a kid who gets a s*** ton of birthday money, spends it on the first couple shiny things he sees and then regret sets in when there’s no more cash and the toys get older
  11. We’ve gone from send Vlad to Indy Ball and Bo Bichette is Tim Anderson to give them 3/4 of a billion really quickly Good thing nobody here is making those decisions
  12. I haven’t watched a Gausman start but have been hearing lots about him without the split. Meaning I guess no whiffs He literally built himself on it and now it’s gone. Weird
  13. Is he even throwing the split?
  14. The White Sox suck but at least they do some things right The A’s will no longer be a doormat Marlins kinda do pitching and speed Washington looks okay The Rockies are a joke and owe Bryant 27M/year through 2028
  15. I feel the same way. Great area and probably a top 10 sports city in the country but one of the worst run organizations in all of sports.
  16. Pretty much feel the same. Money can mask deficiencies But they’ll have to spend and spend a lot. I’d rather be the Phillies than the Rays
  17. Ya because they have a bunch of 2 WAR guys making 20M. Obviously that’s not ideal but that doesn’t mean that money can’t be redistributed when it’s available and the goal would be to sign better contracts!
  18. They can afford it and if they wanna play ball with the big boys and spend like a power house then Vlad’s contract isn’t going to be prohibitive unless he turns into Chris Davis
  19. Rogers is going to have to run a top 5 payroll for the next decade to be competitive
  20. Welp Vlad will be a Jay until my first born is 18 Crazy commitment by Rogers. Shapiro and Atkins probably new extensions too
