There isn’t much difference between paying him 20M for 6 years or 30M. The 1.67M/year difference in AAV is mostly negligible

The problem is how he went about it. In today’s game nobody even blinks an eye when you pull a starter @ 78 pitches or through 4 1/3. But you don’t show up your manager and teammates like that in your second year in the show. He definitely had a little sit down chat this morning
