  1. Walk off-HR for Evan Longoria off Huston Street--Rays win 8-7.
  2. Verlander left with 5 IP, 6H, 4R(3 ER), 5 BB, 7Ks. And the Indians are winning 6-1 as I speak.
  3. Amen to that--McGowan could be back within weeks, as he's close to a rehab assignment.
  4. Dodgers fans would like to talk to you about having injury-plagued seasons--they're missing a lot of big names as well, and their record's as bad as the Jays. Ditto for the Angels. Jenkins is likely up for a spot-start--then they'll likely call up Moises Sierra if Morrow is healthy enough to go on Wednesday.
  5. The Hanrahan trade is officially a bust. Joel Hanrahan is going to have season ending surgery. Meanwhile, Mark Melancon is dominating batters in Pittsburgh. Better hope Bailey gets healthy and Tazawa keeps dominating..
  6. Well, Ortiz is bending but not breaking.. he's at least keeping the Jays in the game.. which is a lot more than most of our starters can say this year.
  7. Humber has an 8.82 ERA and a 1.89 WHIP. Barry Enright already has a 2.00 WHIP in the majors in 2013 and a 9.61 ERA in AAA.
  8. Let's see them actually play first..besides, there are worse options--look at Phillip Humber in Houston! Or tonight's Angels starter, Barry Enright.
  9. They did lose Jason Motte, Rafael Furcal and any effectiveness of Mitchell Boggs and Mark Rzcepzynski. Good thing for a deep farm..
  10. If we could get 5 innings from him and have a lead, that would be a good thing, even if he gives up 4-5 runs.
  11. Yankees finally doing something right--converting Dellin Betances into a reliever. Long overdue--he's not cut out to be a starter, plus if his control improves, he could be a future closer for the Yankees, who need one after Mariano Rivera retires. A needed move too--he's out of options after this season, and the Yankees need to figure if he fits in the bullpen, or he'll be DFAed.
  12. Well deserved. Now if only they could get a regular SS and get Oscar Taveras in their OF(he's having a good year in AAA BTW) instead of Jon Jay, this team would be even better. Not going after Pujols after the 2011 offseason is looking smarter and smarter. Meanwhile the Angels, with Pujols and Hamilton, are 12-22, with no relief in sight.
  13. Could be either team--Lester gave up 6 runs vs. the Jays last time. And no idea on Ramon Ortiz..
  14. Not with the current struggles with the Red Sox who have lost 6 of their last 7--they just lost to lesser pitchers with the Twins. Lester is struggling right now, Buchholz showed signs of trouble in his last start, and no idea on Dempster.
  15. Boston just lost to lesser pitchers in Minnesota this week and 6 of their last 7--that team is in trouble. Can't see a sweep with the way Boston's playing right now.
  16. And who do you suggest we bring in to pitch? Vargas, Bush and Germano are trash--although I would've considered Nolin, Jenkins or Tepera.
  17. Ramon Ortiz's AAA numbers FYI: 2012: 13-6, 3.45 ERA, 1.21 WHIP 2013 (so far): 2-0, 1.065 WHIP, 2.18 ERA Shocking the Yankees didn't give him a shot last year..
  18. Looks like it--looks like he'll be 5-0, providing the bullpen doesn't blow it. Good news for our Jays.
  19. Ramon Ortiz was actually pitching well in Buffalo--he can't be any worse than Romero. He actually had good numbers with the Railriders and the Bison last year and this year..he's been getting better with age, even if it's in AAA. Look, at least Ortiz has pitched more innings in the MLB than Ricky Romero this year. There's a good chance he can give us at least 5 innings.
  20. Lackey just committed a bad throwing error.. and cost his Sox a lead... 5-2 Twins right now, with a HR by young Oswaldo Arcia--those Twins are going to be dangerous in the future, once they improve their pitching. They've given Boston a ride.. Boston's now in danger of losing 6 of their last 7, and handing the lead to Baltimore and the NY Yankees, while helping us Jays regain ground. UPDATE: 5-3 after Nava gets an RBI single.
  21. Umps can't seem to judge any pitch this season--we've been ripped on so many called this season!
  22. Hope you mean Mets--Yankees can't afford him right now, especially considering their top prospects, outside of Gary Sanchez, have seen their stock drop quite a bit.(referring to Tyler Austin and Mason Williams, along with Manny Banuelos)
  23. No--he'll be in Chicago or Texas, or any other team that can afford the Rays price in prospects.
  24. Boston's contingency plan with Allen Webster last night didn't work out either--trying to find someone who could pitch better than Felix Doubront(who has been as bad or worse than Romero, but can't be sent to AAA), and it failed miserably. He's not ready.. but Boston has few options. As for the Jays, it'll likely be Ramon Ortiz, Claudio Vargas, Ryan Tepera, Sean Nolin or Chad Jenkins likely going into the rotation..
